Finally have a DC.

WEEK 5 RANKINGS
LION

1 Franchise (5-0) - Quite a game they had against Hobart. It was a struggle on both sides defensively as the offenses just went to town. Numerous turnovers on both sides as well but there was over 1,200 yards of offense in this game which was unexpected. Franchise took the game over in the 4th Q though as they rattled off 42 points to Hobart's 14.

2 Fulham Flying Hellfish (3-2) - Another easy game coming up for the Hellfish before they face off against CWE, SF and Philly.

3 Massawa Redhorns (4-1) - Massawa may not look so dominating right now but with a 4-1 record to show for it who cares. Next up they face undefeated Canton in a game that will finally show us what Canton is made of.

4 Canton Immortals (5-0) - This team is still coasting through the season but that 83-6 win over Somalia starts making this team seem a little more convincing. Now they'll play Massawa and it will be a very interesting game. A big win in that game could set up Canton to open the season 10-0.

5 San Francisco Demons (3-2) - The Demons had to fight hard to come away with the victory over Uganda. After 3 quarters they held a slight 4 point lead before putting up 17 unanswered points to get away with the W. Tough stretch of games the next 3 weeks could see San Fran moving up or down the rankings.

6 Philly Franklins (3-2) - Very impressive win over CWE this week as Philly managed to stay out of their own way and avoid the problems that have cost them games. They suffered some turnovers (4 fumbles but only lost 1 or this game could have swung in the other direction) but they fought through it to come up with their biggest win of the season. If not for their week 1 meltdown this team could be 4-1 so don't sleep on them.

7 Carthaginian War Elephants (3-2) - CWE suffered a setback against the Franklins. They fell behind 17-31 in the first half and could not get enough offensive output in the second half to close the gap as the Franklins did a hell of a job running the ball. Bad time to drop a game with the Demons and Hellfish up next.

8 Sun City Undertakers (4-1) - The Undertakers are sitting in a good spot right now at 4-1 but the real tests start now. First off they play Somalia. A young but talented team. Then it's Massawa followed by Zambezi, Canton and Philly. Lets not ignore Franchise, CWE and San Fran in the last 5 weeks. Sun City looks good now but they still have a long way to go and the worst of the schedule hasn't hit yet.

9 Somalia Pirates (2-3) - Somalia couldn't run the ball on Canton and that proved to be their undoing. Can they bounce back with Sun City and Lincoln the next 2 weeks?

10 Hobart Tazzy Tigers (2-3) - The Tigers seem to be figuring some things out and had a great performance against my #1 seeded team, Franchise. They feel apart in the 4th Q but it was a hell of a fight up until that point which leads one to believe that this team is on the edge of something. The next 6 games will go a long way towards showing us if they're on the edge of something great or just teetering on the edge before the inevitable fall.

11 Zambezi Silverbacks (2-3) - The Silverbacks have dropped two in a row and with the surging Franklins, impressive Immortals and surprising Undertakers up the next 3 weeks this season could take an ugly turn quickly if they don't reverse their fortunes soon.

12 Lincoln Saints (2-3) - Lincoln looked like they were headed to another loss but a 3rd Q eruption of points led them to a victory.

13 Uganda Silverbacks (1-4) - This hellish stretch of games is almost over for Uganda. They played the Demons well but in the end they lost this one. It was much closer than the score would indicate though so there's still some promise here.

14 Newfoundland Ospreys (1-4) - After 4 weeks of getting the rough end of the APL stick the Ospreys will face a rejuvenated Hobart team coming off an impressive loss against Franchise. This team needs to take advantage of the next month and try to string together some W's.

15 Wheel City Dragons (0-5) - The Dragons lost a 14-3 lead in the 3rd Q and could not keep up with the Saints offense. That drops them to 0-5 and I can't see this team winning more than 3 games this season at this rate.

16 Kenya Diggits (PAL) (0-5) - CPU

ELEPHANT
1 Sons of Anubis (5-0) - Just not seeing much competition around for the Sons this season.

2 Windhoek White Rhinos (5-0) - I expected a win over the Rebels but that was just a dominating display put on by the Rhinos.

3 Ivory Coast Breakers (4-1) - Cupcake win over LVA. They should be able to take 3 of the next 4 at worst to put them in solid position before facing SoA.

4 Angola Blood Diamonds (5-0) - Easy win over an easy team right now. TAP will be their biggest threat of the season up until now. Will be very interesting if ABD takes the next 2 games. It would set up a battle against undefeated teams in week 8 when they play SoA. Who would have thought that would happen at the beginning of the season?

5 Black Sea Sunami (3-2) - Losing to the top 2 ranked teams doesn't look so bad when you come back and take care of business against quality teams in ICB and GG. This team could easily string together 4 wins the next month.

6 The Dead Presidents (2-3) - And the rise through the rankings begins. I expect this team to be sitting at 5-3 before they play ABD and they've already played through the hardest 4 game stretch of their season.

7 Guyana Generalissimo's (3-2) - What started off as a strong season has quickly began unfolding the last 2 weeks. GG will get an easy win over LVA this week and still have a soft schedule following that with Zimbabwe, ECS, Ron's & TAP. Then they have to play SoA, WWR, ICB and ABD over the course of a month. The next 5 games will be critical to this teams playoff hopes. Anything less than 4 wins could push them right out of the picture.

8 The African Predators (4-1) - Solid win and they've strung together 4 wins a row. Not the toughest of schedules yet but it puts them in play for the second half of the season. They won't do well the next 4 weeks but even if they fall under .500 they should be able to bounce back nicely and take at least 4 of the last 7 games.

9 Ron's Texans (2-3) - 3 losses in a row for a team that was showing promise early in the season. Now I have to question if they really showed promise or if Kenya was in that bad of shape due to a weak roster and we all see how bad Zimbabwe's season is going. What's worse is that they have to play SoA, WWR, ICB, Guyana and RAWK the next 5 weeks. I can't see them winning more than 1-2 of those games which leaves them in bad shape for any run at a playoff berth.

10 MaRAWK!!o (3-2) - Rough loss but not unexpected. Another toughie up next with BSS but then they get LVA, Zimbabwe, ECS, Ron's and TAP. They'll need to beat the Texans and TAP in my opinion is they want a shot at a low seed in the playoffs. Those will turn into tiebreaker games late in the season.

11 Laos King Pongers (2-3) - A rough loss against A7 and now they have to play TDP and BSS. I see a 4-10. 5-11 season ahead at best.

12 Ethiopian Camel Snackers (1-4) - Seems like that upset win over the Texans was a long time ago.

13 A7 Nation Army (1-4) - A7 finally gets their first win of the season in convincing fashion. Can they make it 2 in a row with struggling Kickin up next?

14 Zimbabwe Rebels (0-5) - Just not doing well this season. No other way to write it up. I'm forced to drop them further at this point and just have to hold out hope that in a few weeks they can start being more competitive.

15 Kickin Djibouti (0-5) - Maybe a shot at a win in the next 2 games but who knows right now.

16 Las Vegas Avengers (0-5) - They put up their highest point total of the season this last game. Unfortunately 10 points is nothing to write home about when you give up 177 points.

WEEK 6 RANKINGS
LION

1 Franchise (6-0) - Another week, another dominating performance. They should coast for a few more weeks.

2 Fulham Flying Hellfish (4-2) - Fulham is showing that they are the best 2 loss team around. They dismantled Uganda and now get set to play some tough games.

3 Massawa Redhorns (5-1) - After falling behind by 10 points at the end of the first half the Redhorns came out and put up 33 points in the second half to bring home the win.

4 San Francisco Demons (4-2) - Quite an impressive win over CWE. Jumped out to a huge lead with 3 TD runs of at least 60 yards in the 2nd quarter. The defense just shut down a strong offense as well. Big game jumps them up a spot in the rankings.

5 Canton Immortals (5-1) - Canton's first test started off well as they shut down the Redhorns running game. But they lost a 10 point lead as Massawa tied it up in the 3rd and then were outscored by 13 points in the 4th Q to come up short. Lot of promise here but not quite there.

6 Sun City Undertakers (5-1) - Great game by SCU. They were down 20-24 at the end of the half but came out swinging in the second half and outscored Somalia 28-9. Weak schedule or not this team is 5-1 and deserves some rankings love. For now.

7 Philly Franklins (3-3) - Halftime score: Philly 7, Zambezi 48. Need I say more.

8 Carthaginian War Elephants (3-3) - Most teams would be happy to be 3-3 but I have a feeling this team has got to be disappointed in their start. This has to be the worst defeat I can recall CWE taking in my short APL lifetime.

9 Zambezi Silverbacks (3-3) - Huge win for Zambezi and they're playing like they have a chip on their shoulders. They beat down Philly 48-7 in the first half alone.

10 Somalia Pirates (2-4) - The second half was not kind to Somalia as they had to settle for 3 FGs while SCU just kept piling it on. Growing pains are a bitch.

11 Hobart Tazzy Tigers (3-3) - They had to fight a lot harder than I expected but eventually they piled on the points to come away with a win.

12 Lincoln Saints (3-3) - Basically just had a bye week.

13 Uganda Silverbacks (1-5) - They're 1-5 but have a shot at a few wins in the coming weeks. If they take the next 4 they'll be back at .500.

14 Newfoundland Ospreys (1-5) - So close to getting their second win but they couldn't stop Hobart in the second half.

15 Wheel City Dragons (0-6) - After a crushing defeat at the hands of Franchise this team has a shot at win #1 next week when they face the Ospreys.

16 Kenya Diggits (PAL) (0-6) - CPU

ELEPHANT
1 Sons of Anubis (6-0) - Will they get any competition from TAP next week?

2 Windhoek White Rhinos (6-0) - The Rhinos keep defying the odds and coming up with wins. How long can they keep this up. E says they lose the rest of the season.

3 Ivory Coast Breakers (5-1) - Easy win over the struggling Rebels. More of that to come.

4 Black Sea Sunami (4-2) - Dominated the RAWK on their way to a 101-20 point win. Now they coast until TDP.

5 Angola Blood Diamonds (5-1) - ABDs offensive struggles made it hard to come back from a 7-21 deficit. Are we starting to see the beginning of ABDs slow fall through the rankings. They get A7 next and a loss their would be devastating with SoA, TDP, WWR, BSS and ICB the following 5 weeks.

6 The Dead Presidents (3-3) - Hmmm. The W was expected but the score was much closer than I would have ever thought. Maybe they won't be coasting through the next few weeks.

7 Guyana Generalissimo's (4-2) - Beat LVA. Shocker. Could string off a few more wins before they play TAP and that is looking to be a good game.

8 The African Predators (5-1) - 5 in a row now. They might not see a win for another 3 weeks but they're putting themselves in a good position now with that win over ABD.

9 MaRAWK!!o (3-3) - Another tough loss for this team but at least they can take out their frustrations on LVA next week.

10 Ron's Texans (2-4) - What can you say? They lost to the Sons. Pretty much the way it was supposed to go.

11 A7 Nation Army (2-4) - What's that!? 2 in a row. Celebrations are in order. Whip out the Jack Daniels. Can they do it again against ABD?

12 Laos King Pongers (2-4) - This is looking like one of those teams that just can't get it right. They lose to the Ospreys, surprise RAWK, lose to ABD, whoop Kickin, get their butts whooped by A7 and then play TDP in a tight one. Confusing team.

13 Ethiopian Camel Snackers (1-5) - No end in sight for this losing streak. With one win under their belt though they at least are out of the demotion running for now.

14 Zimbabwe Rebels (0-6) - Not sure when they're going to get in some games but I'm keeping the faith.

15 Kickin Djibouti (0-6) - Another rough outing for Kickin.

16 Las Vegas Avengers (0-6) - There's nothing left to write at this point is there.

WEEK 7 RANKINGS
LION

1 Franchise (7-0) - Just got off a bye week. They'll face Somalia next which shouldn't be too much of a problem the way they're playing. After that they get a nice match-up with Massawa. This is the team to beat in Lion right now that much is for sure.

2 San Francisco Demons (5-2) - The Demons continue to look like a contender for a home playoff spot. They have to face a struggling Fulham team next week and a win there would definitely give them an inside track to reach that goal.

3 Sun City Undertakers (6-1) - Sun City needed this last win to show they can hang with the top dogs. They overcame a 7 point half time deficit and just destroyed Massawa in the second half. Huge win for this team and this shows the potential they have. I'm having flashbacks of San Fran last season.

4 Massawa Redhorns (5-2) - This is what happens when you come out and turn the ball over a ton of times. Big loss for Massawa and a huge win for SCU.

5 Canton Immortals (6-1) - Made quick work out of Zambezi this week. They still need to pick up that convincing win that catapults them up the rankings and with Sun City in 2 weeks they'll get that opportunity.

6 Carthaginian War Elephants (4-3) - CWE made a huge statement against a top contender this week as they dismantled Fulham. That's one way to get yourself shot right up the rankings.

7 Fulham Flying Hellfish (4-3) - Ouch. What more can I say? They've now lost 2 more games than they did all last season, including the playoffs. Sorry guys but this justifies a significant drop in the rankings for now.

8 Zambezi Silverbacks (3-4) - Tough loss for Zambezi and they have to play a surprisingly good Sun City team next week. With 4 games remaining that are almost guaranteed losses this team can't afford any more mistakes.

9 Philly Franklins (3-4) - Philly's up and down season continued today with a loss to the Demons. They get Canton, Fulham and a rejuvenated Sun City team the next 3 weeks. Not good prospects.

10 Hobart Tazzy Tigers (4-3) - Starting to display some dominance as they held Uganda to 6 points this week. The next 4 weeks will be hell for this team though.

11 Lincoln Saints (4-3) - Lincoln has been slowly bouncing back from a 3 game losing streak and have managed to get above .500. If they get by Somalia next week they could somehow manage to squeeze their way into the 8th seed.

12 Somalia Pirates (2-5) - Maybe I just need to start picking against you guys. Next week should make this a 4 game losing streak.

13 Uganda Silverbacks (1-6) - I think at this stage we're looking to see what Uganda can do NEXT season.

14 Newfoundland Ospreys (2-5) - Finally get win #2. #3 is right around the corner.

15 Wheel City Dragons (0-7) - There aren't many teams left on their schedule they have a shot to beat. At least there's PAL in week 14.

16 Kenya Diggits (PAL)??? (0-7) - Just got themselves a new owner. I think it's safe to say this season is a wash for this team, whatever it's name will be changed to.

ELEPHANT
1 Sons of Anubis (7-0) - Demolished an improving TAP squad easily. Next up, ABD. But the real game will come after that one when they play WWR.

2 Windhoek White Rhinos (7-0) - Another dominating win for the Rhinos. As good as this team is looking I still don't think they are a true threat to the Sons but they just about have a lock on the #2 seed.

3 Ivory Coast Breakers (6-1) - Keeping pace with the top 2 dogs right now. Will be interesting to see those games in a few weeks.

4 Black Sea Sunami (5-2) - Massacred Laos. Next up, Kickin.

5 The Dead Presidents (4-3) - Easy win this week but now A7 is no longer looking like a pushover come next week.

6 Angola Blood Diamonds (5-2) - So that wasn't an easy schedule to start the season? 5-5 here we come. What looked like a sure playoff season is now in serious doubt.

7 Guyana Generalissimo's (5-2) - Solid win over the Rebels. It will be awhile before this team is challenged again.

8 The African Predators (5-2) - Well that was an expected loss to Sons. Can they do any better against WWR next week?

9 MaRAWK!!o (4-3) - Good job boys. Next up a struggling Rebels squad. Must win to keep playoff hopes alive. These are the kind of games that can't be lost.

10 A7 Nation Army (3-4) - Apparently there's some new coordinators in A7 and boy have they improved the team dramatically.

11 Ron's Texans (2-5) - Another rough game for the Texans and the season is quickly slipping away from them. They'll need a strong second half of the season if they want to anywhere.

12 Laos King Pongers (2-5) - Just a bad game by the Pongers. They get a win next week though!

13 Ethiopian Camel Snackers (1-6) - Another rough loss for them and not much looking good right now.

14 Zimbabwe Rebels (0-7) - I don't know. Maybe a shot at a win next week. If not then there's Laos & Kickin.

15 Kickin Djibouti (0-7) - Nothing left to say at this point.

16 Las Vegas Avengers (0-7) - There's nothing left to write at this point is there.

ABD still has 2 games on you. Let's see how you guys do in the next 2 games. Not mention in 3 weeks you'll see a lot of movement on ABDs part in the rankings unless they pull some major upsets.
