I've done an auction draft for my "buddies" league for about 6 seasons now. I absolutely love it. I will never go back to a serpentine draft again, if I can avoid it.

Ok... so I did some mock auction drafts and I did a real auction draft over the last week...
It's freaking fun as hell! I actually like it a LOT better then your normal sneak draft.
I can't plan your team a little better, you don't have to wait rounds and miss out on players... there are no reaches, only how much a player is worth to you personally. If someone wants him more and over bids, so be it... you still have your money to go after something else.
I've very open to having at least one of these drafts being an auction!
If your iffy about the idea, go do a mock and see what its like before you pass judgement.
You'll end up with a roster you are more comfortable with rather than being stuck with something you don't like all season.
