Hb has 99 speed and 41 agility with 20 vision and 22 carrying. Settings were +50 elusive.

Okay, I've seen similar behavior on WRs right after a catch. I think at the time I was suspicious it was first step firing. It was also at young levels - the FS was all due to custom or endorsement or some such. Haven't looked at the other replays yet, but throwing this out there.

Yeah, looks like the same behavior as in the OP, only the OP is a much, much more egregious example. First Step or not something buggy is going on.

I'm going to think about this for a bit and look at some replays etc to try to come up with some theories before trying to move this to file.

Personally I am not 100% convinced of anything until I know what the HB's tactics settings are as well as the value of the agility attribute.
Not EVERYONE builds speed first like you would think.. Granted, in the Gold leagues teams are predominantly competitive and speed/agility will come first LIKELY..... but we don't know that for sure as none of us passed Mind Reading 101.

How is the HB's owner training him? Is he a 1 and done player or will he continue after peewee? (this can and often does affect which training style is used).
Has he been multi-training speed/agility? Intense training speed first, or agility?

Contrary to popular belief, there are things that affect player movement besides just the sim coding.

You have to look at EVERY angle, not just assume that it is buggy behavior.

That said, it APPEARS buggy, but we cannot know for sure until we have all the facts which we still do not have.

I think even if it was first step firing, due to the description it should only fire from a dead stop. In that sense, it would be nice to know if those players do have first step or not, to either suggest or rule out both those possibilities.

Ive also seen this behaviour on WRs on a catch. Im sure there was a thread of them somewhere but I have no idea where it went.

It also reminded me of this - http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=3962426

His speed is more than twice his agility. Still waiting on tactics.

Heard back from the owner, his running slider is set to +20, so just slightly onto the elusive side.

Well that certainly isn't outrageous for his level. Does he happen to have placed any SPs into the the elusive tree at this point in his build? I know most people that have been building for a while do not that early, but some do and one of them could be firing (SAs that are attribute dependent won't work that well at that level, but other that are NOT attribute dependent can and will possibly fire. For instance, Quick Cut is not attribute dependent and can fire at that level... and imo would be the most likely culprit if not a true bug, which it still could be. Just need to rule out other possibilities first).

Hang on, I linked the wrong thread. This one's much better - http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=3819130

Anyway, Ive tried to find the thread where WRs were doing this too but cant find it. Can we get to see what SAs the players have invested in please?

Edit - Another example, this time on a catch - http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=1250537&pbp_id=12302731

Im thinking it might be quick cut and first step firing at the same time, which theoretically would provide such an acceleration boost.

Quick Cut would have been my choice, but at 2 I don't think it is high enough.
Then again, it was mentioned that this did not happen the whole game but only in a few plays so it is still possible.

Perhaps 2 tests could be set up with an HB having identical attributes, with 1 having no SAs and the other having the same SAs as the HB in question. If it does turn out to be SA related then further testing could be done to narrow down which SA is the culprit (Quick Cut would be my guess).

Only his ceq tree, so the elusive all have +1.

Here's another example of the sudden cut: http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=1250407&pbp_id=12302803, also just has +1 to the ceq tree.

Yeah another example of it happening at the catch. Im going to put points in quick cut to my HB and see if that makes a difference.
