I'd really be angry if the Big East goes belly up.

Why Maryland? Money. You'd get the DC market... and for the saek of money Maryland > Missoz

I really don't know much about Maryland, but I do know they are looking for schools with high acedemic standards.

I understand that part, the money and D.C. exposure. But Maryland has no natural rivalry in the Big Ten (at all, in any sport) and if the Big East and ACC merge (as is rumored) they would be a MUCH better fit there. For them to come to the Big Ten might make sense for the Big Ten (for money, exposure, new market) but it makes NO sense for Maryland.

Missouri fits geographically and has better natural rivalries, although they aren't as big a media market.

Academically, Maryland is a pretty good school. They're much more prestigious academically than athletically.

Rutgers, Syracuse, Pittsburgh, Missouri, Louisville, Cincinnati and Notre Dame have all been rumored to be interested by the Big 10. With Nebraska in they only need 4 more teams to get to 16.

Pitt's been getting some good push lately, but I can guarantee that Ohio State will fight kicking and screaming to keep them, Louisville or Cincinnati out of the Big Ten because those are media markets (and recruiting markets) that the Buckeyes would no longer be able to tap. And since Ohio State has been almost single-handedly carrying the flag for the Big Ten (at least in football) for most of the past decade, it's unlikely the Big Ten would make a move like that without the Buckeyes' blessing.

Nebraska is going to be carrying the Big 10 here soon....

Michigan will be back soon. Rich Rod is going to shit or get off the pot this season. They are going to a base 3-3-5 which will probably not work in the Big 10.

I am excited to play Michigan. I have a feeling they will become what our OU game is now. Very good tradition and fans that know what they hell is going on and are use to winning, and losing, and more importantly know how to handle themselves when they do both

Nebraska will fit in well. The biggest rivalry is OSU and U of M but their are so many other rivalries it is almost every game now. These rivalries play for a trophy, axe, mug or whatever the case may be. I can not keep up with them all.

Being a Big Ten fan my whole life, I'm excited that we're adding a class program like Nebraska. It increases the prestige of the entire conference.

And I wouldn't be surprised at all to see the Huskers immediately come in an make their presence known in 2011

I think Rich Rod will be gone soon. That 3-3-5 is just indicative of the problem with his schemes -- they're all gimmicks. He doesn't seem to understand Michigan or its heritage, and he's lost the backing of the boosters because of it. And I don't think they're going to forget that practice time fiasco from last season when it comes time to review his progress after this season. Unless Michigan is seriously in the hunt for the Big Ten title this season, I think they're going to do the smart thing and get someone who understands Michigan-style football.

Wisconsin is going to be another good rivalry for Nebraska, both geographically and in style of play. The Badgers are underrated almost every season and have been in need of a good rival to raise their profile.

As an ASU fan, you can't blame me for fearing the addition of OU, Texas, and A&M but those 3 will bring the Pac 10(16) back to dominance.

Don't be surprised if OU ends up in the SEC instead of the Pac-10. But, yeah, I think it's become an extreme likelihood that Texas and A&M will end up in the Pac-16
