Week 4 Lion Predictions
GOTW

Nigeria vs LHC
Two undefeated teams square off in this weeks GOTW and what a game this should be. On one side you have Nigeria returning after a rough season in APL. They just finished dominating West Nile but can they repeat that performance against LHC. With one of the staunchest defenses in the conference they'll need to play flawlessly to slow down the Turtles offense.

Then we have another returning team in LHC. After leaving us they have risen back through the ranks and garnered themselves some gold on the way back up. It's been well over a season since they suffered their last loss and not a single team gave them a contest in season 15. They have the edge in lolbars, chemistry, avg level, eff level.

I've got to stand by those Naked Turtles, because anything naked is just good. Oh, and they've had a much tougher schedule and handled the Venom rather easily in week 1.

Colonial vs West Yorkshire
The Zoners have flipped things around so far this season. After an 0-3 start in season 15 they have jumped out to 3-0 this season. A lot of doubt still remains in this writer's mind though due to the lack of depth in defense. They haven't beaten a single good opponent yet and last season they beat every team they were supposed to but lost to every single playoff team during the season.

WYB is coming off a loss and looking to get things rolling again. This is a team accustomed to winning and they seldom have back to back losses (only happened 3 times since season 13). I see the Bandits ending Colonial's win streak in a big way this week as the Zoners defense struggles to find a way to stop them.

Sterling vs Phoenix
Bye week for Sterling.

Morocco vs Port Hartcourt
Bye week for Morocco.

Rapid City vs Stockholm
Bye week for Rapid City.

Botswana vs West Nile
Both teams are suffering from chemistry hits, West Nile a bit more so. West Nile also has a tremendous amount of older players that might hurt them. The one edge the Mosquitoes have over Botswana is in depth so they'll need to hope that gives them enough of a boost to bounce back from that horrendous loss last week.

Cambridge vs Kalahari
Should be an interesting match-up. Cambridge took last seasons game but without knowing the teams I can't guess how much change has happened to the rosters. Cambridge is undefeated but Kalahari has been more impressive even if they lost one so far. Kalahari has the edge in player levels as well (though that didn't seem to matter last season). As it stands I have to go with Kalahari taking a close game.

Denver vs Carson City
Toss-up. I'll go with Denver since they have fewer CPU players on defense. Carson City's defense could struggle to stop any offense.

Week 4 Elephant Predictions
GOTW

San Antonio vs Zimbabwe
Another big GOTW this week. I feel like I could just copy and paste the write-up for Nigeria/LHC though with SA taking the place of Nigeria and Zimbabwe taking LHCs place.

SA has been impressive inside Elephant but that week 1 dismantling at LHCs hands leaves some doubt in my mind. The Rebels are for sure top tier in Elephant so the Venom will need to do a lot better in this game than they have in any game up to date.

Zimbabwe has been chewing them up and spitting them out on a weekly basis and seems determined to make a push for 20-0 this season. With TDP and Inferno gone now is the time for the Rebels to make their move with what looks to be the softest Elephant Conference in seasons. Taking this game is a start (last season they blew SA away 119-7) so they can start prepping for Covington, Barcelona and MMM.

Warri vs Barcelona
Bye week for Barcelona

Mogadishu vs Somalia
Bye week for Somalia

P-Town vs Toro
Let's just go with Toro here since they have 3 non-CPU players on the roster.

Alexandria vs Nigerian
Bye week for Alexandria?

Cape Town vs Blacc's
Something's not working for Cape Town right now and they need to get things figured out before the season gets out of hand. This week won't get them any closer to an answer.

Nile Valley vs Covington
Bye week for the Knights.

Mario vs MMM
Bye week for MMM

Week 4 Lion Rankings
1 LHC Naked Turtles (4-0) - After falling behind 7-10 in the 2nd LHC managed to take the lead and never look back. After 3 quarters they were up 21-13 before an offensive explosion in the 4th quarter for 21 points. Strong win for the Turtles that has them looking like the #1 seed right now.
Next up: Botswana

2 Nigeria Nightmares (3-1) - The Nightmares played a tough game through 3 quarters before falling victim to LHC. A lack of production in the 2nd half hurt their chances here but they should bounce back easily.
Next up: Carson City

3 Sterling Bulldawgs (4-0) - An easy week for Sterling. Morocco should prove to be slightly tougher but they should knock out at least 2 more wins before it toughens a bit.
Next up: Morocco

4 West Yorkshire Bandits (3-1) - Just thorough dismantling of the previously undefeated Zoners.
Next up: Rapid City

5 Colonial Zoners (3-1) - Colonial fell flat i their real game this season which leaves doubt as to just how good they really are. After 3 easy games did they underestimate the Bandits or where they just outperformed by a better team?
Next up: Phoenix

6 Kalahari Night Riders (3-1) - Another undefeated team fell this week, this time at the hands of the Night Riders. Not only did they win the game, they dismantled Cambridge keeping them scoreless in the first half.
Next up: Port Harcourt

7 Cambridge Chieftains (3-1) - A tough loss for the Chieftains this week as they were no match for Kalahari.
Next up: West Nile

8 Rapid City Sioux (3-1) - Easy week for the Sioux. They'll get another shot at proving they are playoff ready when they face the Bandits next week.
Next up: West Yorkshire

9 Botswana Bone Breakers (2-2) - Botswana handled West Nile easier than expected but LHC will be another story.
Next up: LHC

10 West Nile Mosquitos (2-2) - Another rough loss for the Mosquitos has put a damper on their 2-0 start. They have to turn it around the next 4 weeks if they want a shot at the playoffs.
Next up: Cambridge

11 Morocco Snake Charmers (2-2) - Easy one for the Charmers. Will they be able to charm their way past the Bulldawgs or will the dawgs bite be worse than a snake bite.
Next up: Sterling

12 Denver Assassins (1-3) - First win of the season gives them a little hope. Win 2 should come next week too.
Next up: Stockholm

13 Port Harcourt Playmakers (0-4) - Another loss.
Next up: Kalahari

14 Phoenix City Warriors (0-4) - Another loss.
Next up: Colonial

15 Carson City Cadillacs (0-4) - Another loss.
Next up: Nigeria

16 Stockholm Polarbears (0-4) - CPU team
Next up: Denver

Week 4 Elephant Rankings
1 Zimbabwe Rebels (4-0) - Another week goes by and it's looking like a 3 horse race with the top 3 seeds.
Next up: Nigerian

2 Mayotte Metal Militia (4-0) - Keeping those blowouts coming.
Next up: P-Town

3 Barcelona Blaze (4-0) - Barcelona sure knows how to make things interesting by falling behind 0-12 before mounting a comeback that culminated with a winning TD in the final 3 minutes of the game.
Next up: Nile

4 San Antonio Venom (2-2) - A crushing loss to Zimbabwe gives the Venom a lot to work on. They'll have a few weeks to work on the kinks.
Next up: Mogadishu

5 Blacc's Bastards (3-1) - Easy win again.
Next up: Warri

6 Covington Black Knights (3-1) - Ripping out the wins on a collision course with Zimbabwe in 2 weeks.
Next up: Alexandria

7 Somalia Warlords (2-2) - Taking advantage of the weak part of the schedule to get over .500.
Next up: Mario

8 Warri Delta Warriors (1-3) - So close to the upset!
Next up: Blacc's

9 Mario Maniacs (2-2) - The dismantling at the hands of MMM leaves little hope for the Somalia game.
Next up: Somalia

10 Nile Valley Vipers (2-2) - Tough stretch for the Vipers isn't over yet.
Next up: Barcelona

11 Alexandria Barbarians (2-2) - The Barbarians make it to .500 just in time to drop 3 straight.
Next up: Covington

12 Mogadishu Juggernaut (1-3) - Could be awhile before win #2 comes their way.
Next up: San Antonio

13 Toro Nation (1-3) - Well they're definitely not the worst team now.
Next up: Cape Town

14 Cape Town Great Whites (0-4) - Another loss.
Next up: Toro

15 Nigerian Nightmares (0-4) - Another loss.
Next up: Zimbabwe

16 P-Town Ballaz (0-4) - Another loss.
Next up: MMM

Little late today so these will be shorter than usual. Blowout central this week anyway.

Week 5 Lion Predictions
GOTW

West Yorkshire vs Rapid City
Could have a decent match-up here. Hard to tell how good Cambridge is right now but I'll give them some credit for hanging in against Covington. Is that enough for the upset here though?

Stockholm vs Denver
Bye week for Denver.

Phoenix vs Colonial
Bye week for Colonial.

Kalahari vs Port Harcourt
Bye week for Kalahari.

Sterling vs Morocco
Not quite a bye week for Sterling but close enough.

Ghana vs Cambridge
West Nile is hoping a name change turns things around. This one's a toss up and I'm going with the young bucks this week.

Carson City vs Nigeria
Bye week

LHC vs Botswana
Bye week

Week 5 Elephant Predictions

Blacc's vs Warri
This is the closest I could think of for GOTW and it probably won't be that close.

Toro vs Cape Town

Covington vs Alexandria

Barcelona vs Nile Valley
Close enough to a bye

Mogadishu vs San Antonio

Week 5 Lion Rankings
1 LHC Naked Turtles (5-0) - Still dominating teams 5 weeks into the season. Does Cambridge stand a chance? Probably not.
Next up: Cambridge

2 Nigeria Nightmares (4-1) - Easy win for the Nightmares followed by another one this week.
Next up: Stockholm

3 Sterling Bulldawgs (5-0) - Another easy week for Sterling. Colonial should prove to be a bigger threat next week.
Next up: Colonial

4 West Yorkshire Bandits (4-1) - Another dismantling of a promising team. The Bandits are in full redemption mode after that loss to Sterling.
Next up: Denver

5 Colonial Zoners (4-1) - Another easy win for the Zoners. Next week they get another shot at showing if they are playoff worthy.
Next up: Sterling

6 Kalahari Night Riders (4-1) - The week 5 massacres continued here as Kalahari dismantled the Playmakers.
Next up: Morocco

7 Cambridge Chieftains (4-1) - Edged out a win over Ghana by 4 points thanks to a TD run with around 5 minutes left in the game. Big shot at an upset next week.
Next up: LHC

8 Rapid City Sioux (3-2) - The Sioux have failed to compete against top tier opponents. That does not bode well for a playoff run.
Next up: Phoenix

9 Botswana Bone Breakers (2-3) - No shame in losing to the current #1 seed. Everyone else has.
Next up: Carson City

10 Ghana Rhea (2-3) - A tough loss this week as they couldn't over the young Chieftains. They've got a few easy games mixed in the next few weeks but they need to start beating some tougher teams or there won't be any hopes for a playoff run.
Next up: Port Harcourt

11 Morocco Snake Charmers (2-3) - A tough loss for the Charmers. Next week won't be any easier.
Next up: Kalahari

12 Denver Assassins (2-3) - Easy win for Denver and they're almost to .500. Won't last long though.
Next up: West Yorkshire

13 Port Harcourt Playmakers (0-5) - Another loss.
Next up: Ghana (formerly known as West Nile)

14 Phoenix City Warriors (0-5) - Another loss.
Next up: Rapid City

15 Carson City Cadillacs (0-5) - Another loss.
Next up: Botswana

16 Stockholm Polarbears (0-5) - Another loss.
Next up: Nigeria

Week 5 Elephant Rankings
1 Zimbabwe Rebels (5-0) - Another victory for the Rebels. Things get a little tougher next week.
Next up: Covington

2 Mayotte Metal Militia (5-0) - Another blowout.
Next up: Cape Town

3 Barcelona Blaze (5-0) - A shutout victory and next week should be no different.
Next up: Alexandria

4 San Antonio Venom (3-2) - An easy win to get them back over .500.
Next up: Nigerian

5 Blacc's Bastards (4-1) - Dominating win over Warri sets them up nicely for the second half schedule which gets tougher.
Next up: Nile Valley

6 Covington Black Knights (4-1) - So many shutouts this week. Big challenge for them next week though.
Next up: Zimbabwe

7 Somalia Warlords (3-2) - Dominated the weaker Maniacs. Another easy one next week.
Next up: P-Town

8 Mario Maniacs (2-3) - Too young to hang with the big boys in the conference but you can see potential. Easier match next week that gives them a shot at .500.
Next up: Mogadishu

9 Nile Valley Vipers (2-3) - Still going through their rough stretch.
Next up: Blacc's

10 Alexandria Barbarians (2-3) - The tough stretch could knock them right out of the playoff race.
Next up: Barcelona

11 Warri Delta Warriors (1-4) - Not much going right for them this week. They get Toro next though to get that elusive second win.
Next up: Toro

12 Mogadishu Juggernaut (1-4) - Might have a shot at win #2 this week.
Next up: Mario

13 Cape Town Great Whites (1-4) - Finally get that first win.
Next up: MMM

14 Toro Nation (1-4) - Back to losing.
Next up: Warri

15 Nigerian Nightmares (0-5) - Another loss.
Next up: San Antonio

16 P-Town Ballaz (0-5) - Another loss.
Next up: Somalia

Week 6 Lion Predictions
GOTW

Colonial vs Sterling
The Zoners get another shot at beating a top team this week but if the Bandits game is any sign than their chances aren't good. They need this win to prove a point and to stay on playoff course before the second half schedule gets a little tougher. The Bulldawgs just want to keep their perfect season intact by racking up another win. Both teams will most likely make the playoffs too so this one has some seeding implications down the road.

Morocco vs Kalahari
Should be an easy one for Kalahari.

Port Harcourt vs Ghana
Bye week.

Rapid City vs Phoenix
Should be an easy win for the Sioux.

Cambridge vs LHC
Cambridge has a bright future ahead but being an average of 20+ levels behind a team like LHC is a recipe for disaster.

Denver vs West Yorkshire
Bye week

Nigeria vs Stockholm
Bye week

Botswana vs Carson City
Bye week.

Week 6 Elephant Predictions
GOTW

Zimbabwe vs Covington
The way the Rebels have been playing I don't see a close one here. Zimbabwe has blown through opponents both good and bad with no reservations. Covington has made it to 4-1 but they have yet to face a really top tier team and lost to a middle of the pack team from Lion. The Knights will have to bring their A+++ game this week to stand a shot.

Mario vs Mogadishu
This should be a decent game. On one side you have the Maniacs. They are younger but have perfect chemistry which screams slow builders. They've been blown out by the tough teams but not by the margin that Mogadishu has. Mogadishu has a deeper squad but about 25% of the roster is CPU so that hurts them as does their chemistry. I'm giving this one to the younger team.

Warri vs Toro
Bye week.

San Antonio vs Nigerian
Bye week.

Cape Town vs MMM
Bye week.

P-Town vs Somalia
Bye week.

Alexandria vs Barcelona
Bye week.

Nile Valley vs Blacc's
The Bastards should have no problem racking up their 5th win this week.
