Week 4 Lion Predictions
GOTW
Nigeria vs LHC
Two undefeated teams square off in this weeks GOTW and what a game this should be. On one side you have Nigeria returning after a rough season in APL. They just finished dominating West Nile but can they repeat that performance against LHC. With one of the staunchest defenses in the conference they'll need to play flawlessly to slow down the Turtles offense.
Then we have another returning team in LHC. After leaving us they have risen back through the ranks and garnered themselves some gold on the way back up. It's been well over a season since they suffered their last loss and not a single team gave them a contest in season 15. They have the edge in lolbars, chemistry, avg level, eff level.
I've got to stand by those Naked Turtles, because anything naked is just good. Oh, and they've had a much tougher schedule and handled the Venom rather easily in week 1.
Colonial vs West Yorkshire
The Zoners have flipped things around so far this season. After an 0-3 start in season 15 they have jumped out to 3-0 this season. A lot of doubt still remains in this writer's mind though due to the lack of depth in defense. They haven't beaten a single good opponent yet and last season they beat every team they were supposed to but lost to every single playoff team during the season.
WYB is coming off a loss and looking to get things rolling again. This is a team accustomed to winning and they seldom have back to back losses (only happened 3 times since season 13). I see the Bandits ending Colonial's win streak in a big way this week as the Zoners defense struggles to find a way to stop them.
Sterling vs Phoenix
Bye week for Sterling.
Morocco vs Port Hartcourt
Bye week for Morocco.
Rapid City vs Stockholm
Bye week for Rapid City.
Botswana vs West Nile
Both teams are suffering from chemistry hits, West Nile a bit more so. West Nile also has a tremendous amount of older players that might hurt them. The one edge the Mosquitoes have over Botswana is in depth so they'll need to hope that gives them enough of a boost to bounce back from that horrendous loss last week.
Cambridge vs Kalahari
Should be an interesting match-up. Cambridge took last seasons game but without knowing the teams I can't guess how much change has happened to the rosters. Cambridge is undefeated but Kalahari has been more impressive even if they lost one so far. Kalahari has the edge in player levels as well (though that didn't seem to matter last season). As it stands I have to go with Kalahari taking a close game.
Denver vs Carson City
Toss-up. I'll go with Denver since they have fewer CPU players on defense. Carson City's defense could struggle to stop any offense.
Week 4 Elephant Predictions
GOTW
San Antonio vs Zimbabwe
Another big GOTW this week. I feel like I could just copy and paste the write-up for Nigeria/LHC though with SA taking the place of Nigeria and Zimbabwe taking LHCs place.
SA has been impressive inside Elephant but that week 1 dismantling at LHCs hands leaves some doubt in my mind. The Rebels are for sure top tier in Elephant so the Venom will need to do a lot better in this game than they have in any game up to date.
Zimbabwe has been chewing them up and spitting them out on a weekly basis and seems determined to make a push for 20-0 this season. With TDP and Inferno gone now is the time for the Rebels to make their move with what looks to be the softest Elephant Conference in seasons. Taking this game is a start (last season they blew SA away 119-7) so they can start prepping for Covington, Barcelona and MMM.
Warri vs Barcelona
Bye week for Barcelona
Mogadishu vs Somalia
Bye week for Somalia
P-Town vs Toro
Let's just go with Toro here since they have 3 non-CPU players on the roster.
Alexandria vs Nigerian
Bye week for Alexandria?
Cape Town vs Blacc's
Something's not working for Cape Town right now and they need to get things figured out before the season gets out of hand. This week won't get them any closer to an answer.
Nile Valley vs Covington
Bye week for the Knights.
Mario vs MMM
Bye week for MMM
