Week 5 Predications RESULTS:

Drunken Munkeys 4-0-0 over Arlington Avalanche 2-2-0 W

Munkeys can be beat, but it wouldn't be this week.

Amsterdam Red Lights 2-2-0 over Amsterdam Smokers 4-0-0 L

The Smokers streak ends here as they skated by the last few opponents, and the Red Lights seam to be getting a grove. The Red Lights will be able to score on this average defense.

Athens Nighthawks 3-1-0 over Coventry Terror 1-3-0 W

The Nighthawks offense will have a field day with this defense. The Terror seem to be improving but not quite up to the level of the Nighthawks just yet.

Glasgow Doom 3-1-0 over Oslo Norsemen 2-2-0 W

One team will score loads of points. The other team probably won't score any, the defense is that good.

Iceland Dream Team 2-2-0 over Burnt Orange Rising 0-4-0 W

IDT, that's what the cool people call them, should have a field day with this defense, but Rising could sneak a few points here and there and make it some what close.

Dublin Boghoppers 2-2-0 over Maniac Shadows 2-2-0 W

Shadows could make this close if the Boghoopers plan the defense wrong, but straight up advantage goes to the Boghoppers. This is going to be a barnburner this week.

Brussels Massacre 2-2-0 over Barcelona Admirals 2-2-0 W

Massacre's has had a tough little schedule so far, and the Admirals has only beaten lower ranked team. Massacre's will show up on offense and cause problems for the Admirals defense all day, and even though the Admirals own one of the best QB's in the league, there defense will let them down in this one.

Dayton <-FnA-> 1-3-0 over Syracuse Slashers 0-4-0 W

If we don't beat the Slashers, I want to give back the victory over IDT we do have. No doubt there will be scores, Dayton should take this one.

Wasn't a barnburner...but the Hoppers pick was a wise decision.

I will try to get these done by game time but don't know if I can for this week.

Week 6 Predictions:

Brussels Massacre over Maniac Shadows

Massacre really did a good job the last game speading the ball around, 11 different receivers, the average per pass was down but they kept drives alive and there defense did a good job of shutting down the passing game. The Shadows are coming back from a tough lose that saw them miss 4 FG's and just couldn't get their running game going. Massacre's take this one in a defensive battle.

Amsterdam Smokers over Syracuse Slashers

The Slashers offense is coming off an average game but their defense got worked over allowing over 175 yds rushing. They are building and look to be going in the right direction but this won't be their year. The Smokers are coming off a great win over a good team, but looking at the box score I've given up on trying to figure out which one is which, so we'll just move on.

Iceland Dream Team over Athens Nighthawks

IDT has won 3 in a row, and haven't given up too many points along the way and are looking better every game on offense. The Nighthawks are another team that has won 3 in a row coming off a couple of easy wins, their confidence is high but one the other hand the schedule wasn't too demanding up until now. IDT wins this tight one as these are about as close to even as you get this week.

Dayton <-FnA-> over Arlington Avalanche

All kidding aside, we win.

Glasgow Doom over Coventry Terror

Terror has all the pices of a great team, they just need to figure out the coaching side and they should open a few eyes when they do. Doom is a strong overall team that so far has great game planning and with their QB that has a 103 rating so far, should be able to score some points on a team giving up over 24 points a game. Doom all over this one, but if Terror can get it together could make it close.

Norsemen have looked like they have tried about every combination of game planning there is but haven't hit the nail yet. Munkeys are just throwing over everyone they play with the best QB/WR combo in the league, and then they clean you up with the rushing, its a lose/lose for any opponent at thie point in the season.

Dublin Boghoppers over Burnt Orange Rising

Rising has a solid team on paper, but just haven't been able to hit the offensive planning yet only scoring 7 points per game and getting shut out in the last 2. The Boghoppers are on a roll and allowed under 200yds of offense to a good team last time out. Boghoppers win this one by at least 24.

Amsterdam Red Lights over Barcelona Admirals

The RL's will be bitter coming off a tough loss and should rebound in this match-up. The Admirals are on a losing streak after opening the season with 2 wins. Their offense hasn't scored over 14 point in any game so far and that will continue here as the RL's own a good defense.

Thoughts?

Iceland Dream Team isnt going to win. We have one of the best rush offenses in the league and their rush defense isnt that good. I believe it is going to be a close one but we the Athens Nighthawks pull this one out by a field goal.

Week 7 Predications:

Drunken Munkeys over Coventry Terror

Level for lever the Terror looks like a good team on paper, they just haven't played that way as they rely on the passing game to come from behind alot, and its just no working. The Munkeys however are starting to come back to the other top teams after a great start, and only scoring 34 in their last game and allowing 20 points against for the first time this season. This probably won't be close as the Munkeys continue to roll.

Amsterdam Smokers over Arlington Avalanche

The Smokers are the only other undefeated team and after their 500 yard performance against the last opponent should be stoked heading into another game they should dominate. The Avalanche are not in a good position on offense as they've been blanked in the last two games and the defense has given up points, probably wore out because the offense can't stay on the field long enough. Smokers hand the Avalanche their 4th loss in a row here.

*Game of the Week*
Athens Nighthawks over Glasgow Doom

This is a close one on paper, the Nighthawks only loss was by 3 points to a very good club and the Dooms only loss was to another very good club by 7. The Nighthawks have only turned the ball over 3 times this season and have a very stout front line on offense. The Doom rely on their passing game and have a 10/6 TD/INT rate so far and they have 7 rushing TD's. Turnovers could break this game.

Dublin Boghoppers over Iceland Dream Team

The Boghoppers must be adding players all the time as their chemisty keeps dropping but that also means they should be upgrading. They are riding a 3 game winning streak and that should continue as they have a good QB and good HB's to shoulder the offense, and they're blitzing defense gets to the opposing QB often. IDT is coming off a game their offense could only muster 9 points for a team that previosly averaged over 20 recently. They could play with enough heart to take this game but my opinion is they are overmatched here.

Brussels Massacre over Burnt Orange Rising

Massacre is a good team threw the air with 2 good QB's, but they do throw the pick ball a little too often, but against this team that should be a problem. Rising just isn't living up to their potental, not scoring in 3 straight games, but they seem to be growing with little turnover and with a little better planning on each game could win a game or 2 this season. But right now Massacre should win this pretty easily.

Amsterdam Red Lights over Maniac Shadows

The Shadows haven't been blown out in any game so far and it wouldn't happen here either, but only being able to muster 2 TD's in the last 3 games isn't going to do it against this team. ARL should be able to move the ball at will on offense either way, air or ground and may even pitch a shut-out on defense.

Dayton <-FnA-> over Oslo Norsemen

We got this one, we think.

Barcelona Admirals over Syracuse Slashers

The Admirals are on a big time lossing streak but that will stop here, as they should finaly get the offense going. The Slashers will have a hard time matching up player for player with the this team and will once again look to end the winnless season, this might be their best chance for awhile. This could be a very low scoring game.

Thoughts?

I like the Athens Nighthawks pick we have just recently signed new players to the defense to help us out. It should be a close one but if we get some takeways it could be a blowout.
