I attribute it to the fact that constant name changes make it more difficult to build brand recognition. They should be able to recruit top players, but with the name changing every week-n-a-half, will anyone know who they are signing with?
Contrast that with Cobra Kai. Brand recognition, baby. Everyone knows us, everyone is talking about us. And because of that, when it comes time to recruit, people come to us and we get to choose who we want. Sure, there are two or three people who may let personal bias get in the way of making a rational decision about who to play for, but odds are their dots suck anyhow.
