Can anyone point me to an example?

What about Jedi?

Jedi is one of the best built HBs in GLB, of this I have no doubt. X factor= awesome build and the right AEQ.

I haven't really seen any examples of x-factor players since the weight-gate debacle was resolved.

I don't see any players who have the obvious dominance that JJ or Need Ur Love or Slow Aschit or Barry D'licious had, and I have seen no players who perform in a way that does not seem in line with their build.

Can anyone point me to an example?

Co-sign.

Although to be honest I don't fully understand the success of either of these players (not just this season):

There are only a handful of great OCs/DCs left and then a bunch of mediocracy. The top WL teams have the better ones obviously.

i can confirm that Halifax isn't good because of our coordinators.

we rolled through the early season without a DC, and i can't remember the last time i changed the O.

There are 3 different ways to OC imo:
1) Try to set up your offense according to the current sim exploits
2) Try to set up your offense to exploit the particular defense you are playing
3) Try to set up your offense to do enough things out of the same formations you should beat DC's that try to tag/exploit you

My preference is #3, but everyone does things different. I prefer #3, but realize everyone does things differently and there is no real right or wrong.

And the best OCs (see: WL rings) do a mixture of the three. I think you've just pinpointed why you'll never have success as an OC.

DPC allows for the DC to have an infinite amount of possible ways to attack. When people play the Kai (due to our weapons) we never see a "Typical" defense. I can watch 16 games of a DC, he will do something completely different against us. Its the nature of the Kai beast. I had an epiphany at the begging of this season. The results of which have resulted in 17-0 and the most potent Offense in SLAP history. I did all three until this season. The defense is a moving target due to the DPC while the offense is a stationary target (advantage defense). So I thought of ways to take away their advantage.....and apparently I did. (see: Kai W/L Record).

ETA: I don't expect you to understand because I know everything I just said is WAY over your head.

It really all comes down to builds. The best tactics in the world won't stop a well built dot.

It is funny though, when most people fail with trolling, they just slip away from the thread. ITS just keeps doing the same thing, but with more intensity.

Coordinators are pretty important, just look at mem's first 9 games vs their last 7.

Another factor is when the teams are peaking. If there isn't a lot of age variance a team entering their plateau will have an advantage against teams with similarly competent builds and tactics who are younger or have a broader range of ages.

Thanks, but I wasn't just fishing for a compliment.

This is a player of mine with a very similar build but who weighs 10 pounds more. Now I know 10 points can make a pretty big difference on a WR, but Phil has consistently been the worst WR on the team and I've even tried to replace him a number of times while Ed has always been at or near the top of every league he's played in.

A similar comparison can be made with this player of RB's http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=645771
They've both been following basically the same build plan but Gunnar is 6 levels higher and has the advantage of lvl 64 EQ. They have different roles this season but last season they backed each other up and I even switched them back and forth. Gunnar is even 5 pounds lighter.

I'm still not convinced of X factor though. There are some differences between the builds, and some of those differences have helped me figure out how to improve all of Valhalla's WRs. But switching up builds/VAs/AEQ has allowed me to grasp at least a limited understanding of the magnitude of effect the differences should make, and it really doesn't seem like it's enough to account for everything. And back in seasons 5-8 Phil and Ed's builds were pretty much identical.

Best set of dots win.

I'd love to see that margin be able to be narrowed by tactics more...but it isn't the case IMO.

At this point, re: tactics, I'm just happy if the dots I maneuver only do something retarded less than half the time...instead of most of the time.

Did they actually change their defense for Bonn or later? They hadn't the six or so previous...so I'll just debunk that for 2 of the 7 games of which you speak.
