Just send a pm to the owners of the 16 teams being promoted asking them for their vote.

As new members of the WL they're probably excited to be joining and would be less likely to be apathetic. They also wouldn't have been subject to the constant flame wars and bickering here so they'd probably be unbiased.

Then whoever gets the most votes at the end of two days wins. They wouldn't all reply but I'd guess 1/3-1/2 would.

I actually thought of this a few minutes ago.

But then I thought "some leagues wouldn't have finished simming".

Then I just realized, aren't all pro leagues on the same day?

nvm, just checked uslap, i was right the first time

I'd send out the pm's on day 41 with the deadline for replies at the end of day 43.

I asked bort about this right before he got really busy. It's burried. I'll bump it.

I was considering doing this for the pro leagues also, with them doing a vote exchange of sorts. Random selection of which votes for which.

I could easily ask them to include their WL MVP vote also.

Getting WL owners to vote would probably be reasonable. You could make it so that there is a run-off system with the top few vote-getters (to decrease the likelihood of an undeserving player getting chosen).

Well, ultimately Drk decides whether or not to load the trophy in, so if some people do something stupid...no trophy, or we can just exclude their votes.
