For the most part I was right based on positions. I was wrong on the Port Moresby Kings, who changed their name to the GERMAN WILDDOGS to avoid apparently the worst country's capital in the world, barring Baghdad as well as starting our first rivalry with the Berlin Devine Right???

1. Suva Hawks- Dominating game against another good team!
2. Hawthorn Headhunters- Came out looking like crap; offense didn't produce. I'm hitting the game film hard on this one.
3. Christchurch Parrots- Brian Beck threw for 273 yards in that devastating passing attack in a close win made closer by a garbage time TD.
4. Future Llamas of America- The D made the big stops when needed.
5. Sacred Haven Knights- The Breeze had no answer for Thatch Dillian, who was 7 yards shy of 300.
6. South Sydney Rabbitohs- Had the ball ran down their throats, and the offense didn't help them get back in the game.
7. Lincoln Breeze- Didn't do anything with the 5 turnovers they created.
8. Sunshine Coast Condors- Took advantage of a horrible team!
9. Saipan Storm- A balanced attack never hurts to win a game.
10. GERMAN WILDDOGS- They were still hung over after celebrating moving from certain death to a better environment, so I won't hold it against them too much.
11. Berlin Devine Right- My dropping them didn't motivate them. Maybe if I do it again it will help...
12. Sandersville WarChickens- Played a lot better. Couldn't take advantage of 7 drops and a defense that didn't expect the run.
13. Solomon Islands Pack- Figured out that running was the way to go.
14. Nottingham Hoods- Solid showing they had. Poor Punting ruined any chances they may have had, along with a 77 yard TD.
15. Wellington Assassins- Played a lot better, but no dice. Could their receivers catch a cold if it came their way???
16. Redcliff Razamanaz- Another blown out game. Earth to george96, are you able to think coherently???

My pick of the game this week is obviously the Christchurch Parrots vs. Future Llamas of America. The Parrots have a wicked passing game, while the Llamas have a strong D and kicking game. I think the Llamas will make the changes to win this battle of 2-0 teams.

I really love the way you comment gamedays. Keep going! Good stuff!

Man the pick of the week was spot on. Please keep these coming though. They are great for discussion!

Well we are moving on to week 4, and 4 teams remain undefeated. One of those teams are likely to fall (ties do happen in this game). The other two I don't expect to lose. Let's get down to business:

1. Suva Hawks- Team to beat, plain and simple
2. Hawthorn Headhunters- Scored on first 3 possessions, and then went on cruise control.
3. Future Llamas of America- Tough run game and efficient passing game allow clock control; D made crucial stops, though Kicker had an off day.
4. Sacred Haven Knights- Passing again was big, and the D was stuffing.
5. Christchurch Parrots- Bad game plan, need more film study for sure.
6. Sunshine Coast Condors- Lucked out, kinda like the Steelers/Dolphins game in the NFL last year (3-0 Steelers)
7. Berlin Devine Right- Their egos are bruised; apparently they are as fragile as very thin glass. They played hard enough to jump up.
8. South Sydney Rabbitohs- Last game was disappointing.
9. Saipan Storm- Need to convert chances that they have.
10. Sandersville WarChickens- The team I expected showed up this game.
11. Lincoln Breeze- Not a good showing, the score should be double what it was last game without a doubt (hence the big drop)
12. GERMAN WILDDOGS- Outmatched before the game even started. If they lose next game, should they change their name back?!?!?!
13. Nottingham Hoods- WHO'S YOUR DADDY SOLOMON ISLANDS??? WE ARE!!!
14. Solomon Islands Pack- Above statement is all that is needed.
15. Tie- Wellington Assassins & Redcliff Razamanaz. They are equally bad in my book. Why separate the two?

My pick of the game this week has to be our #1 and #2 teams, the Suva Hawks and my team the Hawthorn Headhunters. I have them going down to the wire; I won't comment on who wins because I don't do that with my own games, much like the owner of the Kings doesn't allow betting on his team at his casinos.

Both of these are very good for discussion. Your pwer ranking seem to be spot on except that you have different point of views on a few things that I am curious about. Coach said that Christchurch Parrots were ranked #5 and WarChickens at #10 and Jerry has got those 2 teams pretty much opposite as WarChickens are #5 and Parrots are at #12. What is the reason for the 2 major differences in the teams' rankings? Just wondering. Thanks

Well creeker22, the WarChickens have a solid team, but they don't seem to come out and play. They lost in week 1 when they should have won, and had a chance to win in week 2 but again failed. The OC/DC need to study stats and have a better game plan. Christchurch Parrots also have plenty of talent, and have been using it. They had a tough game, but hung in there. Personally, I dunno how he came up with his stats, but I look at the teams, how they have done in previous weeks (the closest game weighs most heavily, with the farther you go back, the less it hurts), the current talent on the team, and the matchup.

I like your way of coming up with the power rankings. It creates some interesting discussions. O and I agree with your power rankings more, but I do still respect Jerry's.

Here are the reasons why the 2-1 Parrots are ranked low in my power rankings. They defeated Assassins, both rankings concur they are the worst. They beat the Hoods by 3 (rank 13 & 10 respectively). The first upper echelon team they play (Llamas) and they are shutout.

Meanwhile the WarChickens had an inexplicable opening loss, but then lost by 2 to Headhunters (an upper echelon team) and did what they should have done to Assassins. So I think they learned their lessons from their opening loss and will be a tough game from here on out.

Before today's games play, I'd just like to add that any team ranked in the Top 5 is capable of beating or being beaten by any of the other teams in the Top 5. Suva Hawks has the edge, but it's competitive.

Yea, I would agree with that statement. It seems fairly accurate except for that last statement, but this is because the games just ended...Suva Hawks were just defeated by Hawthorn Headhunters!

...And then there were 3! My Game of the Week was all we expected, and a little more. My team the Headhunters held on for the upset, which means that by default I think they are at the top. The WarChickens fall yet again, which gives the impression that my prediction was more accurate. Sorry Jerry, but I claim to win for week 3.

1. Hawthorn Headhunters- Beat the former #1 team in a VERY CLOSE GAME. That gives them confidence and the new top ranking in my poll.
2. Future Llamas of America- Solid win, running it, but can also pass
3. Sacred Haven Knights- If they had more balance, then I would have them #2
4. Suva Hawks- Should be the #2 team, but they currently have a loss, so fall down to the best of those with a loss.
5. Christchurch Parrots- Lucked out with a few big plays, were outplayed.
6. Sunshine Coast Condors- Passed for the win.
7. South Sydney Rabbitohs- Did what they needed to do.
8. Saipan Storm- Looked good, albeit against a bad team.
9. Nottingham Hoods- I can see them as being the surprise team of this league, possibly making the playoffs.
10. Berlin Devine Right- Need a win badly, they lose in the final seconds.
11. Lincoln Breeze- I have a song for you guys, that might be able to boost you: "Livin on a Prayer", Bon Jovi
12. GERMAN WILDDOGS- Will win in Germany against Redcliff.
13. Solomon Islands Pack- They have won at least.
14. Sandersville WarChickens- Is Bobby Petrino the coach of the team?
15. Redcliff Razamanaz- It looks like Redcliff is trying to go all human, so they get the edge over our other winless team...
16. Wellington Assassins- How does it feel to be all alone in the cellar in the dark?

My pick of the game this week is another match of the undefeated, the #1 Headhunters and the #3 Knights. As before, I don't make predictions on my own games, but this one should be very good also.
