DId you ever actually DO research on a guitar in the history of modern rock music? they are held a specific way because it resembles something most guys do every night. Modern rock music is all about splurging, whether it be in the back of limo, on a loved ones face, or in a dressing room.
Of course, I'm trying to put this in a way where you ACTUALLY take this seriously. nickelback and bands like creed are WICKED to listen to whilst driving in your car. you feel invincible. but when a guy feels invicible , the first thing on his mind is gettin head. if it's not, you most likely play in a band like pavement, and band that will NEVER achieve the stardom they want, because they aren't following the structure of a top 40 song, which is basically following the structure of a human beings mind.
if everyone in the world followed THAT structure, everyone would get along. they'red be no wars, no crime, everyone could just chill and rock out. and i'm not saying you guys are bad people, i'm just saying, look at this thread...your'e all tearing into me (well, most of you)

You can like whatever you want, no affect on me *shrug* Even though i think they are completely untalented musically and i can't stand anything they've put out, you gotta hand it to em for how much they've done. They've gotten more fame and money working with less musically than almost any other band ever. Would be like a guy in a wheel chair winning the MVP of the NBA.

I'm talking about why Nickelbacks success worked. you're not gonna target everyone of course. 8 million people however is still a big number. and if you're a guy in a band and want to make a living making rock music, you should follow there teachings over, say, some piece of crap band like the mars volta.

Just because you make music hicks like, doesn't mean you make good music. I agree that Nickelback has done very well for themselves. And if their goal was to sell as many records as they can (very likely true), then they've done very well. If their goal was to make good music, they've failed. This likely was a tangent goal, that they hoped to achieve at the same time.

Nickelback HAVE substance though. they've released 4 albums, each and every one better then the last. 8 million (plus people that downloaded their songs) won't forget them. The Pixies? please. the pixies were absolute crap. the real fans that they did have, moved on to better music, and the fans they have today, are morons that got into the band AFTER they broke up. because thats the way scene people work. it's all about jumping onto something they think is obscure, when the band is already long gone. all bands are legends AFTER they disbanded or died. so what if nickelback are long forgotten in 10-15 years. quit livin in the past/future, and hop on the bandwagon.

It is not safe to assume that if I dislike Nickelback I am the type of music snob who thinks he is cool because I like some obscure band that no one has heard of. Those people/bands suck, too.

Ever hear of a little unknown group called TEMPLE OF THE DOG? they are huge nickelback fans. of course, you guys just keep listen to your no talent crap rock like the pixies, bands that never hit it big, because they wrote scrappy little pieces of junk with no structure. and YEAH, getting laid is important in rock'n'roll. why? because it's human nature to get laid. everything you did in life revolves around gettin laid, especially sports and rock'n'roll. the two have been intertwined since the humble beginnings. just because I put effort in looking my best, or going to dance clubs, doesn't mean i know nothing about rock'n'roll. i'm 24 years old. i think i know a little more then a bunch 17 year old kids.
