moderator, tell me the purpose behind owners playing equipment. why shouldn't the equipment be paid by players and be affordable enough that they can pay for it with their salaries.

you can pay the players a ton and expect them to buy their own equipment

OR

pay them minimum and fund equipment when money allows while building up a stadium

most choose the later so they are not locked into paying for it until they can afford it

at what level under 24. try to do that in a A level league. you would never catch up to the competition, that was the alleged purpose behind the shuffle.

bolded, ftw

I "cap-build" all my players - they get boosted every year and all ones over level 10 have CE

I was on a team that gutted 2 years ago - we built our players the cap-built way and in our 3rd season we are undefeated with lots of cash in the bank

we were AA when we started

dropped to A after 1 season

BBB after 2 in a level 28 capped league and are now doing great

which allows for 4 construction time periods

Um...owners are the ones with the income. All money a player has comes from owners...so I'm not sure how players are supposed to pay for it without help from owners. As for making it cheaper...don't really know what to tell you. Don't upgrade everyone's equipment when you start getting to the higher levels. Nobody can really afford it.

If you want to suggest cheaper equipment, that's a different thread, and it has been covered millions of times in various threads....

$1.6M each

but at that level, players only advance 5.5 levels per season with boosting

and it is also why you save money after you finish your stadium because you know that bill is coming

and you fund it the best you can

funding equipment is why teams re-build - the stadium remains full so they stockpile cash

I understand that, that is why I was arguing in another threat that equipment is killing the game as well. it forces owners to gut or go bankrupct after a season or two.

if others have suggested cheaper equipment as I have, why hasn't the issue been addressed. obviously this is an issue of concern and I am not alone here. it is because the system favors players who have been playing the game from the beginning. those owners have the equipment and stadium and they shot out the new voices.

After a season or 2? It shouldn't. Not at all. Those that get a high cap team and try to buy that level of player right away are doomed; I think the proper suggestion is that ALL new teams start off in a level 13 capped league - then everyone getting a new team starts off the same

People haven't suggest it for lower levels. Paying for lower level equipment is easy if you are smart with your money.

Paying for level 56 equipment will run you into the ground no matter how much you have saved up...making the "this game favors people who have been around since the beginning" argument kind of void really.

I've always supported new teams being capped, and STAYING capped until the cap would naturally expire...but meh.

didn't we discuss this already, what about the dozens of teams that go CPU and then they have to get new ownwers. that is around several hundred new owners in A level leagues.
