Michigan St. and Tech are not that similar considering Michigan St. is a Tier 1 university as is Michigan. If anything, Michigan St. is very similar to Michigan as both are living in the shadows of a much better school that gets way more national coverage. But this is all so laughable because you are too dumb to notice that and must insist that Texas A&M is for some reason "better" than other average State schools.
On the fight song references, Texas makes a brief mention while Texas A&M dedicates an entire verse basically to the University of Texas.
Football wise Michigan State holds the largest comeback in I-A victory in 2006 as well as taking part in the "Game of the Century" where the Spartans tied the Fighting Irish 10-10.
Texas A&M holds such honor in their football program, that they always tend to schedule teams that are down on their luck in hopes of getting in a few wins and building preseason momentum. Michigan St. on the other hand always has Notre Dame as an out of conference game and played Cal last season in hopes of getting better competition.
What is even better are the recruits that Texas A&M are losing daily to the University of Texas and the University of Oklahoma. Both schools are consistently beating Texas A&M in the recruiting battles even though Texas A&M should be pulling a fair share of the 5 star Texas recruits. I won't even go into how Texas Tech has a hard time cracking the top 25 for recruiting classes yet they have no trouble beating Texas A&M.
Your history lesson bores me as it contains nothing worth learning. Your claims of military service being why you lost is a burden you must deal with if it is true which is difficult to determine.
What I find entertaining is how much you bash Tech but cannot refute the fact that they stomp Texas A&M with ease. On top of that you suddenly pull out that this is the "Worst 10 year stretch" even though your last bowl win came in the previous 10 years.
Oh and your "Corps" are equivalent to Mike Leach's band of Pirates.I meant Michigan St. and Texas Tech athletics. DeVry is a more appropriate comparison to Texas tech academics. As for saying A&M is so much better than the other average state schools, we are way above average in most every way, and I was pointing out the comparison to Michigan St. and Tech, not everyone. t.u. and OU are beating us in recruiting. They both have recent national titles, and we have been mired in football hell for a decade. Big surprise? My history lesson bores you because you have to feign apathy since I dismissed with facts all of the misinformation spewed out of your pie hole.
We mention t.u. in our fight song. Guilty as charged. I guess we should be embarrassed, much like t.u., UCLA, and Alabama off of the top of my head who do the same thing..
Congratulations on having to comeback from 3 TDs down in the 4th quarter against a terrible 4-8 Northwestern team and tying Notre Dame 4 decades ago. Those are definitely the examples I would use to highlight my program.
As for our out of conference, we don't need to schedule a ton of other power programs in non-conference because our own conference is so competitive. Nonetheless we are playing Arkansas every season OOC now, and since 2000 have played Miami twice, Clemson twice, Utah twice, Pitt twice, Virginia Tech twice, and
Notre Dame twice *GASP*
The fact about military service during that stretch was to illustrate that the overall history of the programs head to head, especially in recent times, isn't a story of domination by either side.
I bashed Tech because those tortilla tossers hijacked my thread and I had to put them in their place. Much like you, they spouted off without any facts and I had to bring them back to reality. I can't dispute the fact they have owned us the last decade, that would be stupid. By worst 10 year stretch, I mean just that. Unless we win the Big XII this coming season, it will be the 1st decade since 1900 we haven't won a conference championship. Our replacement for R.C. Slocum turned out to be an idiot who rode the coattails of LaDanian Tomlinson to bigger jobs, and left the talent cupboard bare on the O and D lines. We sucked last season, and will be happy to win 6 games this coming season. I accept that reality, but also the reality that we are headed in the right direction. I also take pride that the rest of our athletic programs are in excellent shape, and that I graduated from a great school.
As for the Corps, they have a long and proud history. There are examples of idiot fans at every school, and pictures of a few of ours aren't that surprising. Nonetheless, our Corps boys are more likely to be Navy snipers killing pirates than be compared to them, since A&M commissions more officers than any other school than the service academies.
Anything else I need to clear up? Need I remind you that YOU stuck your nose into this. I wouldn't have given Michigan St. a second thought had you not tried to defend your tceh cronies. If you need any more education on Texas A&M please continue spouting off your ignorant takes, I can talk about my fine alma mater all day
