I think either way players are going to retire. Even if Bort chooses not to do it himself, who wants to spend any money on flex when it would only get you +1 or 2 in a stat. More and more people will retire them, or just go inactive. By forcing retirement Bort makes people retire, gives back that 70% of Flex, and then those people create more players and are out of flex in 2 seasons or so. It all starts over again.....If he doesnt make us retire, he would be opening a whole new can of worms....people complaining about the lack of improvement they can give their builds from boosting/training. It will become virtually non-existant. But then I guess he would just give into that one to, making anyone who did retire mad. oh well....we are all screwed lol

I started the rebuild project with my agents over 3 seasons ago. We didn't take the easy way out by retiring everyone and going slow build, we kept our current players and ponied up the $ to make new ones. If player decline doesn't happen, I'm done spending money on this game. I won't pretend that I'll quit or sell my team, I know I won't, but Bort won't get another penny from me, and I'll make sure to encourage my agents to follow my lead. To say I'll be upset is an understatement.

That reminded me of a funny story I heard once. Long ago, when Jack Nicklaus was playing, he was on the greens practicing one day. An amateur golfer was playing behind him and got in a conversation with him. This amateur watched Jack play and starting telling the Bear he could compete with him, that the pro's weren't any better than the amateurs. This kept on through the back nine, until Jack finally had enough and said he would play the guy. So the fella says 'let's make it interesting, say $100 a hole', and Jack said he'd do it for $1000 a hole. The amateur says '$1000 a hole? I can't afford that', to which Jack replied "And that's the difference between a pro and an amateur'

Not jealous, no. I've seen lots of builds like that, and have plenty of "ooh, ahh" builds on my team. Of course with a 31 stamina he's only that fast for a handful of plays, but nobody's perfect

that's ok, we have 5 more just like him. I will take those handfuls of plays x6. oh and rarely to our WRs drop below 60 energy. Anything over 35 stamina is really overkill, if you have the depth.

I am confident in my belief that we have much better builds. Better builds does not always translate to more wins as bort has managed to guarantee.

Nice build Onepeat but not entirely unique by any stretch. I know you know this game just from reading your posts on CCCC but I don't think slow building is any sort of secret anymore =) And even the slow builds are starting to look similar. I of course would have put different priorities on certain attributes...but I won't tell you which =p

You are an obnoxious braggart, I'll give you that. You have absolutely nothing on which to base your belief that you have superior builds. Furious won a championship in our second season in Oceania, even though we were outleveled by a significant amount. Do you think that's by accident? No, its because we planned this team as a slow build team since season 3, and have solid tactics.

So feel free to boast all you want, but until you start putting chalking up some wins I'd probably be a little more modest. But that's my nature.

Oh well, he has a reason to dislike slow built teams, the churn and turnover rate kills his plans each offseason, when 80% of his time is redelgating you guys who slow build instead of spend time recruiting (not trying to bash you guys), it is going to get on his nerves, along with several of the Veterans who want to see IN GAME CHANGES. Think about it, the last two offseasons saw a few big changes compared to the several that were promised, and it's cause he has been taking care of the gutted, sold, and rebuilt teams. He is trying to change that, did the Vet points, in sense, were a clever idea to deter people, but they just had a tad to much success. He will come up with other ways, and the season 10 thing Wont happen for awhile, for several reasons.

I think if you get upset about extending retirement your kind of ignorant to be honest. It means that yes older players are around longer but it also means you will be too. So in essence the amount of time you spend at the top does not change. Say S10 was the season we basically stop getting better. So you figure your S7 players would start to dominate S1 players in S10 meaning you waited like 3 seasons to get good and had 7 seasons at the top. If they extend it to 12 seasons you wait 5 and still dominate for 7 it makes no difference except you wait longer.

Well, I'm of a different opinion - and I won't resort to calling you ignorant for disagreeing with me. I'm not concerned with WHEN player decay starts - like I said, we didn't go slow build, my team started new players and kept the old ones as well - I'm concerned with IF slow build occurs ..... or more specifically, if it doesn't. Two things about that - 1) if player decay doesn't happen, it means that everyone that started in season 1 or 2 will always have an advantage over players that start later. ALWAYS. That's a load of crap IMO. 2) if player decay doesn't happen, it means I wasted a shit ton of money that I didn't need to getting ready for season 10-ish. That's a bait and switch tactic if I ever heard one, it would piss me off ginormously, and lead me to never trust Bort or want to give him more money.

If player decay starts in season 11, or 15, I'll be annoyed for forking over cash too early. Yes, I understand your point, but there are counter arguments for the timing involved with when you start over, and maximizing your "time on top". The point is - don't tell people one thing and then do something different.

Obviously many people have trouble with bort on here for many reasons myself included. For every 1 thing he does right I have 2 issues for things he has done wrong. The truth is though that GLB is the greatest football related thing since madden 1st came out. Now madden is gay with each new version being an updated roster of the previous year. I just don't find accuracy in most of your arguements. They sound just like you hate the way bort has done certain things and follow that blindly as a scapegoat for problems that don't even necessarily exist.
