Football games have way more energy I think than Baseball Games as far as fan participation, but Baseball games are good for a kind of family kinda thing. My fiance and I have season tickets to the Braves. Now before you get all excited they are in the nose bleeds haha. Basically with 83 home games it gives us an excuse to go out and spend time together since we both work and are in school with very little social time so it is a good option. Plus my fiance is a Baseball fanatic. I just got her liking football last year.
i'd agree on the level of high school and some college football. but the nfl and some bigger schools in college are just tedious to watch because of all the breaks in the action. its exciting, but its not the "non-stop" action i always hear in comparison to baseball. personally, for constant action, i'd take hockey over either one of them. even when they stop, which is only every few minutes at the most, the restart is almost immediate.
True Dat... Hockey rules.

You do know that baseball has been played for much longer than just the past ten years don't you? And that the New York Yankees are the greatest baseball organization of all time? If you like them or not you can't argue with the number of championships they have won

and to answer your question...the last ten world series winners have been
1999 New York Yankees
2000 New York Yankees
2001 Arizona
2002 Anaheim
2003 Florida
2004 Boston
2005 Chicago
2006 St. louis
2007-Boston
2008-Philly
I see two world series wins there....two more than 23 other mlb teams and one more than 29 other mlb teams

my beef with the way they run the yankees is that they dont grow there own talent. My team is the Red sox and yes they do sign ortiz, drew, lowell, beckett they are a big player in the FA market but, they do have K.Youkilis, D.Pedroia, J.ellsbury, J.Lester, J.Mastereson , J.Papelbon , J.Lowrie which are all good young home grown talent. If you look at the Yankee roster you just dont see that kind of young talent.

the difference between the yankees and red sox is that while both teams DO grow their own talent (yankees can boast posada, rivera, jeter, cano, and at one time bernie williams all as homegrown), they have the money to keep the talent on top of adding outside talent.
if all teams could afford to hold onto their own prospects, the washington nationals would probably still be the montreal expos, and would have had players like pedro martinez, larry walker, vladimir guererro, cliff floyd, moises alou, jose vidro, marquis grissom, rondell white, john wetteland, dennis martinez, matt stairs, and probably even more im not thinking of, for years more than they did, and maybe would have won a championship or two of their own.
or more recently, imagine if the a's didnt have to trade away all their players year after year. they'd have had giambi, ellis, tejada, chavez, zito, mulder, hudson, harden, street, foulke, and others as well.
other teams may have been able to build red sox or yankee level runs over a number of years, but other teams dont have those kind of funds like the red sox or yankees do to keep their marquee players.

Yea but all those yankees you named as homegrown except cano are all old or getting old they have a roster full of older stars and no young guys coming up and a bare farm system. thats not a good combination.

no its not, which is why they've been losing out to the rays and sox. they've been trying to bring up guys like kennedy, hughes, and chamberlain to start developing new stars, but they don't have the patience with them.
the point though, is had those old homegrown stars for the yankees or the younger ones with the red sox been on just about any other team, they would have been scattered around the league by now because no other team could afford to keep that number of high salaried players. the red sox want to call the yankees the evil empire, but they're basically the same team, just the sox are about 10 years behind.

i think part of the "evil empire " name comes from george and hank running there mouth. It just seems like john henry and theo are quieter about it and just go do what they do without spouting off and trying to one up everybody. The other think is that the yankees are ALWAYS in the news for something. If its not a-rod and madonna or petite/clemens thing. Its always something. It gets really old after awhile. You never see pedroia or Bay or any other redsox in the news. We had the Manny drama but that was dealt with. Manny caused problems in the team chemistry and he was dealt. In NY they invite drama. If manny was in NY the wouldnt care if he caused problems. Boston acts like a unit, NY acts like a group of individuals.
