you sound as if I have slighted your team somehow, but I was actually paying a compliment.

You may not know how to decipher the scouting bars and I agree its a poor barometer, but it does give you some information of the builds you will be facing. What it will not tell you, since its not factored in, is anything about a teams vet points (you need to actually watch the pbps to gather some of that information).

There is a formula to estimate a players ~number of vets points available, and anyone with simple math skills can deduce the difference in SPs. If one combines what they speculate from the scouting bars with the difference in skill points of like scouting bars, you can actually grasp a teams strengths and weaknesses and formulate an attack. Leaving the wildcard vet points.

To be fair we suffered our own AI anomolies as well in that game like the shotgun play where the WR1 would run out of bounds and be thrown to, that costed us several times and yet that play is not in the playbook let alone the AI.

Also, going 3-3-5 nickel would have been worse for you, as thats what we expected and you will notice that it actually saved you when we scouted you to be in that defense and then ran dive plays out of the singleback. The difference of a traditional nickel and a 3-3 stack nickel would have been probably 2-3 more yards per rush minimum that Dash would have gotten and I think that would have made a noticeable difference in the game.

All I said above and continue to say, is spotting a guy 8-10 levels is asking alot and hoping and pray at the same time, I believe Nati did a great job containing and not allowing a big play from your TE or WR. You ended the game with 19 more offensive plays then we had, which also played a major role in the outcome of the game.

In summation, great game one I enjoyed watching! Eventhough. the outcome wasnt favorable it was expected. I would rather pat my guys on the back and say we wont lose to Eci next time around. Bottom line is no matter what I wanted to point to as the cause of defeat on paper you should have won by more. I have pointed out to the guys that we were your closest game all season, we scored the most points on you guys all season, and we were giving up 8-10 levels on several defensive matchups. I am now moving on to the offseason to make sure we gain the ground where we need to on levels to teams like yours. I look forward to avenging this loss next season given the chance. Best of luck to you and yours, but know that next time we face each other it will be harder to win a second time. Once again best of luck and see you in AAA.

I guess the reason one "may" not read this as a compliment is because from reading your posts, one would think the ONLY reason we won was because of levels and I don't agree with that.

To each his own, and everyone has their right to an opinion. Whether you wanna believe it or not the facts point to that exactly. Our average level on offense was 38 to your average 43 on defense, our average level on defense was 35 to your average level on offense of 43. (all numbers rounded and only starters taken into account) Yet you only scored 7 more points on 19 more offensive plays. Regardless, lets move onto S8 and we have already started to close in on the level gap you had on us last season. Lets see how the shoe fits on the other foot.

For the record, one would read that I am saying levels and vet points is one of the major reasons you beat us. Not the only reason why you won was because of levels, thats how you read it and not as how one would read it.

Its numbers like this that I don't understand. You repeated over and over that most positions had you beat by 8-10 levels and I thought that figure was a little extreme but then you say in the above statement that our defense averaged a level of 43. How do you get that number? We only had 1 player that was 44 and 2 players that were 43 and everyone else was below that. Not actually doing the math but just breifly looking at the roster, it looks like we average 40 or 41ish,. Thats around 3 levels and thats not a huge difference. Dunno, but I need coffee. Coffee > math lol

Ok, did a quick check on the math and it came out to level 42 for starters and 39 for overall defensive players that played 20+ plays. (If I had to take a guess where the 43 came from, it was probably counting Wolftep and Bret twice because they are the starters in 2 positons thanks to the way the 3-4 defense shows on the main page.) So, if your math is correct for your team, you are talking about 38 against 42 on starters. Thats not really a huge difference. I wouldn't think the 4 total Vet points would come into play that much their. What MAY have came into play more was the level 39 cap of 10 vet points per vet skill. What I mean by that is at level 39, the max you could take a vet skill was to 10. Once you hit 40, you could take it to 15. It is no secret my HB is geared towards power. While he just turned level 40, he does have the advantage of taking bruiser to 15 (IF, he didn't spend his vet points and stockpiled them till he hit level 40).
