You make a good point. I shouldn't say that gameplans are irrelevant in Season 7 because they aren't. They're just a lot less significant than in the past. As much as I dislike Dmac, I've said many times that the guy puts together very good gameplans, but if that was still as important his team would be better than middle of the pack despite his level disadvantage. Remember that while Gaffney is a lot higher in levels, the actual gap in quality is much smaller because Dmac and his friends built their players extremely well.

It's not crap, it's just simplistic. If they ran bad plays over and over I'm sure they wouldn't win 33 games. They have isolated the plays that work best for them, which is great, but they get away with using the same thing over and over because their players are that good. They have no reason to change their gameplans until the sim punishes predictability. Basically the GLB sim is stuck in the 1960s during the Lombardi era where teams just ran the same stuff over and over again, daring you to stop it. I can't really blame good teams for exploiting that, but for me personally, I find that to be boring.

No, I've gone 6-7 because my team's builds are not quite as good as other teams' builds. I've been GMing in this game for a long time, and if you ask around with the people who have played multiple seasons against me in Western Europe, I think most would tell you that I run some of the most inventive, complex schemes that they've seen. I've had to because the teams I've been on have never had the most talent, which means that I take risks and try everything I can think of in my gameplans. Even in previous seasons that didn't win us any conferences, but it certainly made things more interesting.

Almost all the best teams in CA2 were in BBB last season, so the competition isn't that different. The rosters improved, true, but because of massive promotion out of this league, it's not like we were out-classed in talent. And again, I've been coordinating against very good competition in Western Europe for quite a few seasons now, so it's not inexperience talking. I know how the sim has changed. Also, for the record, my guys don't have "crappy builds." We have some really good ones and some not so great, but not much "crap."

To each his own, I guess. Obviously I prefer to win, but more than anything I like being challenged. I guess I don't see much fun in a game that's basically running on autopilot. AIs made GLB infinitely better, and I hope that Custom Defensive Plays will produce a similar jump. Trying to figure out ways to neutralize an opponent's strengths and exploit their weakness is why I play. If it was just about training and skill points, I wouldn't bother.

And you can give pseudo credit to my team in order to "subtly" slam me all you want, I don't care because my boys are very knowledable and build great players so even though you're solely doing it to belittle me, you're still right.
