Well, the record may not show it, but you guys are pretty well-schemed. You beat us twice last season too - our only two losses. Both pretty damned good games too. And this year also, but of course our owner had gone inactive, so we really did not have an OC - I count it a little less than last season.

Now to define a fair fight! I had to improve BR team by FA signings to keep up last season! Yes my team is one of the ones you posted above and we were forced to become one of the powers by the teams ahead of us being so superior it forced me to bring in better built talent which i did! I will no longer whine as to the fairness of the moves no matter what you input things into a trade offer and it either allows the action or disallows it!~ That is cut and dry! The real problem with(my team included is the suggested levels for tiered leagues. They should not be recommended but actual! This current system is causing capped teams who move up to face relegated AA AAA and Pro teams prior who or now in lowly a division with full stadiums and millions to spend! this causes teams like Baton Rouge Parts Shetland Cologne Chuck and Misc to make teams rthat could compete and win in AA or AAA leagues!! The system is screwed up and we choose 2 separate ways to come to the same conclusion! Do what it takes to field a competitive team to win! Sorry Parts GM's and Owners players!

I hear what you are saying, and I agree with it. We were a dominant team in 1st season capped BBB, losing out in the Conference Championship (no whining, we were outplayed by Stockholm). When we got promoted, the owner made the decision to stay loyal to the agents/players that got us there even though we were in over our heads. Stockholm looks like they made the same decision. It felt like the right call on principle, mainly since we did not have a lot of agent/player defections.

Looking back, I think we most probably would have been better served by going the route that Parts and Wingmen (fellow promotees) went: build that roster. Some people may not like the way they went about it (I am not among those, kudos to both), but they are competitive, playoff teams in their first year up. That is an accomplishment, going 1st year capped to playoff-bound while naked in the wilderness.

Our "pure" principle would work a whole lot better if GLB balanced leagues a little better, but we knew that it does not - probably could not - going in. Shame on us for not acting on it, and now with an absentee owner, there is a pretty good likelihood that a lights-out-good, BBB capped franchise will hit the CPU-team skids after one season in the bigs.

There is a lesson in that, I think: (I hear Ray Lewis's voice chanting this in my head) Improve your team! Beat your opponents! Win your games! That is all.

I can't fault Parts for doing what they had to. You have to be competitive. The Pirates assembled a low-level team and just stuck to our guns knowing that after a few seasons of growth, we would be a strong and competitive team. The fact of the matter is exactly what's stated. There is no real balance to the leagues. And honestly, I'm fine with that. There is always going to be somebody who invests more, or spends more time, etc.

I think however that lbrlove was incorrect in stating they should have done what Parts and Wingmen did, and I hope they don't do it in this offseason.

Before the relegation changes WEA#5 had it's newly built teams, the teams that were growing, and the teams at the top. It's just how it was, and everyone was aware that if you put your heels to it, you could move up the "tiers". I think if people abandon their "team" atmosphere to just be the best, your team will never really be a team. It's just going to be a bunch of free agents looking for a better team to play on..

Personally, I prefer a team any day.

Definitely food for thought. Obviously undecided, and of course I compounded our "mistake" of going with team-oriented growth by polling the team on what they wanted to do for next season. Some of us never learn!

I upped the roster to make my team more relevant in WEA#5. I have seen some of the moves were good and others not, and I will do some tuning for season 8 - no going crazy with lvl 40+ players, just good builds and agents.

Copenhagen Drakkar did the right things by the players agents with the full knowledge that it would not be a nice ride in season 7. Idrlove will get that team moving and I am looking forward to what Drakkar will bring to season 8.

Now this is a nice healthy discussion. I like it guys!

Under the current state of GLB, I don't see it being possible to build a team from lower levels and maintain competitiveness in a promotion/relegation format. There are always going to be teams that improve through trades and free agency.

The reduced VXP and XP is a movement in the right direction, but I believe it will take hard caps for each level of a league to keep things fair for homegrown talent. This will also cause teams that don't get promoted to trade away their homegrown high level players to remain Under the cap. Unless someone has another view on that...

Yes i changed my POV to a how do you remain competitive versus a cheating angle! It was hard for me to compete i know it is hard for BBB teams to come here and damn they have 6 overall 54 and the new BBB teams just became 45's or 48's it is tough!

My brother expressed it very much the same way, good points. And hard caps may come along down the pike. It was not long ago when PRO and AAA teams were incubating talent (1st level super-builds) for numerous seasons, but hard level floors were installed to prevent that. I guess we will have to wait and see how the diminished VXP/XP stuff works to know if hard caps will become necessary.

I don't like hearing that Drakkar could fold and go CPU. I kind of liked having you guys as rivals. I haven't given much thought to how to improve the current League promotion system, so I won't comment on that, but I just wanted to say, I hope you guys find a way to stick together, lbrlove.

Thanks, I am getting pretty good feedback from our agents, and I think they may hang in when I take the team over (I am eligible to take ownership after this Sunday). We have enjoyed the challenge of playing Stockholm too as a nice target to shoot for. Of course we have yet to figure out the right gun for the job...
