After beating the Ringriders and their impressive offensive firepower in an epic game(17-0 4th quarter, last second TD), the Argonauts are looking for the big upset tomorrow. Can we pull the upset 2 weeks in a row ?

We are definatly playing better than the beginning of the year right now, our record doesn't show the level of play of the last games, so even if a win is highly unlikely, getting in the top4 by the end of the season isn't out of the realm of possibilities...

Well it would only be an upset for the people who expect you to be as bad as your placement says.
You have been on my top5 list for over a week and i really expected the game between Rinkenęs and Marseille to be close.

I'm really interested in seeing how you do against the undefeated Rabid Mutineers though.

Was close, but the Rabid Mutineers rallied after a half time defecit to win 14-7, and remain...

UNDEFEATED.

Keep gunning for us fellas.

You were extremely lucky to tie us, but we'll make more than 1 of 6 FGs in the playoffs

watch out for the Vatican Paladins. Since we got our recruiting going we are on a 5 game winning streak and look like we might have an advantage over the Bluebirds

Well you do have a good team now, however you have no advantage as the Bluebirds got 2 more wins and is on their 8 game winning streak, not to mention still got a slightly better team.
I believe you'll end up in top4, however i just don't see anyone else winning your conference.

they only have 2 more wins because our team wasnt the same team for the 1st few games as we added most of our players around game 3-4. its gonna be a good matchup when we play them, it will come down to who has the better strategy

Dare I say that it was the other way round?

We BOTH had chances to win that game, so I wouldn't say either of us were lucky to tie. We both failed to win!!!

Sure, you could say that.

I still think we played the better game, and missing 5 field goals (including two short ones on 23.5 and 29.5 yards) is just bad luck.

in curiosity, i formed a new ranking system to reflect not only wins/losses, but also WHO those wins/losses were against.

basically, 1st position (currently Ikk Fu) is worth 16 if you beat them, 2nd is worth 15 and so on (so dusters currently worth 1), with ties worth 1/2 points, losses worth 0 points.

add up all the points from this, and the following table emerges:

Belfast Commandos (56)
Ikk Fu Rabid Mutineers (49.5)
Lyon Breakers (48)
Frankfurt Crusaders (47)
Bow Street Runners (45)
Marseille Argonauts (34)
Rinkanaes Ringriders (33)
Glasgow Lions (30)
Reykyavik Lazytowners (28)
Dublin Bulls (25)
Cork City Wildcats (16)
Limerick Vikings (11)
Spaniard Warriors (11)
Rotterdam Red Devils (7)
Kolbotn Kodiaks (5)
Port St Lucie Knuckle Dusters (0)

what this shows, is that Ikk fu so far have had easier games, and so are slightly lower down on this list, whereas a team like Marseille have had tough games, and are better than their position indicates. this isnt terribly accure at the moment, but as more games are played, it will give an indicator of how well teams have coped with strong/weak opposition.

please post questions, observations and suggestions

You know, this makes it seem like the BCS has their hands in our league. Why don't we just let the season play out.

Good job. Shows that Marseille isn't a bottom of the league team.

And we played well below what we were capable of, and went for a FG on 2nd down in OT... shit happens.

Right now, teams as they are, I'd go in confident that we'd win comfortably, so I'll quit dwelling on a tied game where things didn't go right for either team.

I don't deny we've had a pretty easy schedule early, but the problem with being on top, is that every team you play is below you in the standings...

I fully believe the Argonauts are one of the best teams in the conference, and we handled them pretty well.

Bring on anyone and everyone I say. I have every confidence in my teams abilitys.

Yup. We lost by 3 points, 6 points and 7 points when facing the top 3 teams in the league. I fear it might be too late for a turnaround, but I keep hoping.

After the next game, the Mutineers will play the #2 #3 and #4 in a row, if they make it undefeated, they will become clear cut favorite to win the conference.
