Difference between a joke and a snide comment.

Yea there is a difference, it's called tone and as we've seen I'm hardly ever serious on these things. Ending the sentence with just sayin is a dead giveaway if you read the Canada forums.

They're not "all important", but they do matter. If an O lineman pancakes a defensive player, he can move on to the next level and block a LB or CB. That can be the difference between a 2-3 yard run and a 10+ yard run.

There's a lot more to a good blocking O lineman, but to say pancakes don't matter is just silly. Completely taking a def. player out of the entire play is very effective.

well, you make it seem like defensive players cant get back up. imo holding blocks > pancakes but there are no "held block for 4 seconds" stats.

These are actually the same reasons that offensive linemen like Jason Peters make it to the Pro Bowl in the NFL. There are no readily available stats and therefore fan voting is based largely on reputation as perpetuated by things that don't actually matter as much as consistently good play such as draft status, media coverage, and team preference. GLB offers one statistic with which to gauge offensive lineman success and that is pancakes. Even if we used a formula which took into account team rushing average, sacks allowed, and blocks held, you'd still be hard-pressed not to put a guy with 350+ pancakes on an All-Pro roster.

sure they can, but not after the running back is long gone and O lineman has moved to the 2nd level for additional blocking.

for my players i check every game and if theres a sack on my teams QB i check to make sure my player didnt allow it. if he does that idc how many pancakes he gets.

I tend to look more at the lvl difference in players. If there is an OG that is lvl 37 in a league that averages lvl 30 and he has 200+ pancakes then he does not deserve to be name ALL-Anything imo.

although I woulda given K to Yankee Sullivan - 19/22 (3 misses were all from 60+ or 50+), and 274 total points

Ya know the funny thing.....

Blanco Silva has been inactive the entire season....lol. His contract expired today.

Crazy how an inactive level 25ish kicker only misses 1 FG all season.

I also wanna see the builds of Tradewests CB's....unreal been playing this game for a while now and thats just sick.

The need to add a couple of more stats....O-Lineman "Sacks Allowed" and Punters "Inside 20" or maybe even "Hang Time".

Think you should have another CB on the list just cause it ain't right about those Tradewest guys....to damn good!!! LOL. One of my corners had a heck of a year and he doesn't even come close to those two guys.

We had the #1 rated Pass Defense in the league. (not arguing by any means just wanted to give our CBs some 'love')

Brent Vinson
55 Tackles, 3 missed tackles, 2 hurries, 1 Sack, 1 TFL, 87 PDs (Led entire CanadaA#2), 4 INTs 102 return yards, 2 INT TDs, 1 Fumble Rec TD.

Juvinile Delinquent
59 Tackles, 3 missed tackles, 5 hurries, 10 Sacks, 20 PDs, 1 INT

Jonathon Wade
56 Tackles 1 missed tackle, 4 hurries, 7 Sacks, 49 PDs, 4 INTs, 1 INT TD, 2 FF

and i will second Mike's opinion on this stuff is tough to judge

my guys will never have the stats because they are on a 100% rotation

only my punter and kicker play 100% of the plays that are available to them... the rest play 40% or so

Rotation is a really effective way to do it. At the same time, you don't see platoon players in the NFL making the Pro Bowl despite how well they play in their 40-60% of the plays. That is, unless you count Titan RB Chris Johnson who has put up 100% of a Pro Bowl rusher's stats with 60% of his team's carries as a rookie.
