2002 Buckeyes - definitely not the most talented of teams, but as a fan it was a really fantastic season to watch. So many incredible finishes, 7 games won by 7 or fewer points- it was one rollercoaster ride after another. In the end, the BCS got it right, and though there was a lot of controversy- my team won the championship. Could I say the same if I was a Miami fan? no- but I'm not , and that was one of the greatest emotional highs that I have ever experienced.

All I remember from that game was Meghee wearing his knee backwards.

That was one of the worst injuries I've ever seen. If you would have told me then that he would still be a first round pick in the draft that year, let alone ever play football again, I would have called you crazy

yet he developed into a pretty solid NFL back. No doubt that injury hurt him I think hed be a Pro Bowl caliber back every year but hes still a quality top 15-20 starter

Miami seems to be pretty good with RBs until lately.

4 Starting RBs in Chronological Order for the U

1. Edgerrin James
2. Clinton Portis
3. Willis Mcgahee
4. Frank Gore

all became top 5 backs in the NFL in their careers (Edge with Indy, Gore right now and Portis w/ Denver and Washington). Maybe not Mcgahee but I think if he didnt do that 2 his knee he'd definitely be better

Not a Miami fan at all btw but Im just impressed with that ridiculous succession of starting HBs

since then theyve had shit: Jarret Payton, Tyrone Moss, Javarris James, who the hell are these guys haha

I am from Ames and I watched ISU get beat up by... well everyone. But especially Nebraska. After the University of Iowa I root most against Nebraska.

There were 4 national champion trophys back than and U of M won 3 of 4. That's sounds like a majority . But if you want to feel it was a "co" national championship than that is ok. Though I am very happy you guys beat Manning after there coach wined so much that he sound of won the Heisman over Woodson. Oh the glory days.......

No team will ever equal the 2002 Angels for me...

but for Football, I would have to say the 89 Chiefs. I was a boy in search of a team (had been a Rams fan previously but couldn't stand Georgie Frontiere) and Christian Okoye became my idol. Great career cut short by injuries...

I loved that team though - Derrick Thomas, who ended up being my all-time favorite player (another tragedy), Neal Smith, Steve DeBerg, Stephone Paige - awesome team

I think they became the winningest team of the 90's, though they just couldn't get it done in the playoffs - something for which I have always blamed Marty Schottenheimer

Current team is no good, though I like what I see out of Tyler Thigpen

I will never forget the poster I saw of Okoye. He was awesome. And he had one of the all time great nicknames: The Nigerian Nightmare!

I know! Love it

He was apparently a really nice guy though. He actually coached High School Football in Montclair, CA about 8 or 9 years ago. I lost track of him after that (except for his short lived stint on that Pirate realty show...)

I loved the 1978 Pittsburgh Steelers. Their Super Bowl game with Dallas that season was the best ever.

Also liked the 1980 Oakland Raiders
1981 Cincinnati Bengals
1984 Miami Dolphins
1986 New York Giants

But the 1978 Steelers = Greatest team since the 1962 Green Bay Packers

+100
I was just a kid, but living here in Chicago that season was just magical. I recently watched that superbowl on NFL network...I've never seen any team dominate another like that. It was like playing TECMO against the cpu. The 2 playoff games leading up to that were even worse (both shutouts).
