First of all, let me start out by saying that I absolutely HATE Notre Dame. Having said that, I can also say that Michigan fans definitely hate Ohio State more than ND. In fact, its not even close.

ND, I will grant, dislikes Michigan (and Michigan State for that matter), but it is their rivalry with USC that has been around the longest. It is USC that is the biggest rivalry for the ND. The other rivalry that ND has is Boston College, not Miami. Miami??? WTF??? They don't even play Miami in football (or basketball for that matter)!!!

in that order (though there are some ND fans that would put Purdue as high as #2 on that list)

On the contrary, you are thinking of their satellite school in Port Arthur. Lamar is a standard 4 year university. They are finally bringing football back next season after a 20 year hiatus. Sad thing is A&M have scheduled them for the 2012 season. I guess A&M have officially hit bottom.

Miami... we beat them for the National Championship in 88. We haven't played them in a while but in the 80's and 90's we did. Also in Basketball we played them 2 times a year in the mid nineties considering they were in the same conference....

And the reason we don't play Miami anymore is because there was too much hatred between the two teams.... Far too many problems broke out after the games between the fans that both universities agreed not to play each other anymore....
