I opened up my level 10 too, so you can save this one too
he actually sat out until almost level 5. I think about 15 days
into this season) so he's a product of both training styles.
This is without EQ.

Saving this one also, for an example of a level 10:

Strength: 60 Blocking: 56
Speed: 8 Tackling: 11.8
Agility: 17.8 Throwing: 9
Jumping: 9 Catching: 8
Stamina: 12.8 Carrying: 9
Vision: 15.8 Kicking: 8
Confidence: 11.8 Punting: 9

Puma,

My lvl7 Center has 6sps saved but has no chance of matching your lvl10. Is it because of a bad roll, choice of born date (Season 5 -Day 13), or other?

My build was based around training intense (strenght/blocking) until I had enough sps saved to cap strength once, then twice. However, I don't see how I could match your lvl10 center's blocking with only 3lvls to go and 6sps saved.

Where did I mess up?

Strength: 61 Blocking: 28
Speed: 8 Tackling: 11.2
Agility: 14.2 Throwing: 8
Jumping: 8 Catching: 8
Stamina: 16.2 Carrying: 8
Vision: 11.2 Kicking: 9
Confidence: 11.2 Punting: 9

Regards,
Eric

My best guess is that you spent points going to the second softcap on str rather than getting Blk to the first SC. Your roll itself looks fine, possibly even slightly better than mine was.

It's my opinion (though not proven) that if you want two major attributes to be roughly equivalent in the long run you should go to the caps one by one on each. In other words, with your center you should got Str to 48, blk to 48; str to 61, blk to 61; str to 68, blk to 68.

You can't match his blocking, but your strength will be higher.

With 3 more levels your strength will be 64 just from natural progression. If you have 6 sps saved that means with 3 more levels your blocking can be at 50 with 1 sp in the bank.

Therefore you would be looking at 64/50 vs. 60/56.

Puma and Rage,

Thank you for your input. Seeing the actual calculations out for my C (64/50) makes me feel better.

I'm thinking that I shouldn't have created the player so late in the season, which lost training opportunities in the very beginning.

Eric

PS - This thread has been very, very informative. Thank you OP for starting and allowing me to post.

One thing to consider w/ the superslow builds that is being overlooked.

If they forgo any advanced equipment, they can get an extra 16 skill points from turning in bonus tokens. This could help them hit the caps even quicker and maximize the autopoint bonus from leveling.

My post on page one did not overlook them. DW didn't go into specifics on his so not sure which post you're referring to.

Heh, was going to run the numbers, but someone beat me to it. Good point Rage. Looks quite even.

Yeah, advanced equipment, from everything that I've heard so far, is not good until way later in levels.

End of first season update:
C - http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=917265
50 str, 29 block, 15 agi, 12 vision.
Training on agi/vision currently with 12 points to spend on 3:1 strength when the time comes. Directly following that is 2:1 block. When agi/vision are ~25 I'll switch to con/stam to 35 while getting str and block to 4:1, 3:1. This may go beyond slow building.

G - http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=917489
49 str, 28 block, 18 con, 14.75 agi, 11 vision.
Training agi/vis, 7 points to spend on blocking 2:1. I'd like to 2:1 cap str, block, agi, and get speed to ~35-40 then go on to 3:1 str/block when I can.

G2 - http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=918177
49 str, 28 block, 18 con, 14.75 agi, 10.75 vis.
Same as above, but 8 points to spend.

ROT - http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=918238
49 str, 27 block, 15 agi, 15 con, 14 vis.
6 points to spend, training agi/block until block is ~29-30, depending on where the training bar ends up & bonuses. Plan is similar to the Guards but instead of 3:1 str/block it'll be 3:1 block/agi.

LOT - http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=918398
49 block, 23 agi, 19 vis, 15 con, 14 str.
6 points to spend. Training agi/vis until agi is good for 2:1 at which point I'll probably move on to con/vis. Not 100% on where I'm going with this build but it'll be blocking/agility/vision high with enough strength and confidence. I figure that's best for quick RDEs and ROLBs.

They're level 4, 247 xp away from 5.

Actually, at low levels ( <8 ), just about any cheap piece of AE is better than normal EQ, once upgraded to level 1.

Builds are looking good BTW.

Level 6 has brought some nice changes.

Center and one of my guards have light green 39 blocking bars, pretty cool.

Center's stats are (the ones I've improved):
Strength: 52
Blocking: 50
Agility: 21
Vision: 18
5 points left

Guard1:
Strength: 50.35
Blocking: 48.35
Agility: 20.25
Confidence: 19.35
Vision: 16.25
1 point left

Guard2:
Strength: 50.35
Blocking: 48.35
Agility: 20.25
Confidence: 19.35
Vision: 15.25
2 points left

OT1:
Strength: 50
Blocking: 48
Agility: 21
Vision: 18
Confidence: 16
0 points left

OT2:
Blocking: 50
Agility: 27
Vision: 24
Confidence: 16
Strength: 15
18 points left

Just out of curiosity, are you basically just financing a training ground for your players? You should just take folks out of D-leagues and have them owe you favors later on =p (Nude gf pics and the like, ofc)

Level 7 now 4/1000xp... Both guards are 42 blocking bars, 30 overall.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=917489 1 SP
http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=918177 0 SP

Center is 42/27 still, but he's looking better and better.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=917265 1 SP

ROT a little behind, but he has some SP to spend toward 2:1 capping agility.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=918238 5 SP.

Same deal with LOT except he's actually a little behind in the roll so strength is behind gonna take awhile, though vision looks pretty decent.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=918398 5 SP.
