Upset baby!!! Now I believe we're guaranteed to play the 'Nite in round one of the playoffs, but week 16 will determine the location, the Pipeline or the Church.

Looking over at Alpha, it looks like the playoffs are pretty locked up. At this point, the only change that could happen is that Brantford could pass NZBP for the #5 seed if Brantford wins and NZ loses. Other than that, it looks like it's going to be as it is today:
1. Mean Machine
2. Tonga Ikale Tahi
3. West Scranton Invaders
4. East Coast Tide
5. New Zealand Burning Pride
6. Brantford Mustangs
7. Wagga Wagga Fighting Squirrels
8. Fiji Sea Turtles
Man, that's a deep bracket. I think it's fair to say that the top 3 are certainly a cut above the rest, but there aren't any pretenders there. Man, it gets harder and harder just to make the playoffs every year.

Well, you see, as good teams have been promoted from the AAA leagues, the overall quality of Pro teams has improved. In addition, we have gone through a full season with very little gutting. The overall result is that there are more than 5-6 teams in each conference who a qualified to make the post season. The end result is that some very good teams, who would've made the playoffs in past seasons, will be on the outside looking in.
I hope that helps you to understand why it gets harder and harder just to make the playoffs every year.

Unfortunately one of the guys who I used to help GM his team and had a few players on Strike seemed to have jumped ship and moved all of his players (bar the ones that were still on Strike, and still had access to our forums) over to the Burning Pride just before we played them.
Kinda crappy way to go out of the playoff hunt, though we didn't help ourselves with the slow start obviously, just sucks when you've got someone spying against you at the same time.

What? Seriously?
That's the kind of crap that ought to be reported and get a guy black balled.

Well I've banned the guy from my teams forums so it won't happen if we were to play again before the contract is up or a trade is found... just wish I'd realized before logging in to see half of his players playing for the other team a day after they were all playing in Africa AAA.

Just to clarify, this player who came to NZBP mentioned nothing at all about Canberra to us. These players that came to us were not on Canberra previously.
We didn't have any super secret strategy versus Canberra, and actually ran the same exact game plan as we used the previous week against ECT...
It just so happens that this agent has players on two O-pro teams. Not uncommon...

Nevah!! To quote the great Mickey...
You can't win, Rock! This guy will kill you to death inside of three rounds!
Does that mean I need to move to Philly and chase chickens before the playoffs start? There isn't any snow here in Dallas (or old beat-up barns within easy distance) to prep for a Drago.
We do know how that ended up though eh Toad?

Nelson offered absolutely no input into our gameplan. I didn't even realize that he had players on Canberra until right before the game. As Barnsie mentioned, we ran the exact same strategies that we did last week. To be totally honest, *if* we were going to spy, we wouldn't waste the time and effort in this situation, on a team that we were confident we'd be able to beat straight-up pretty decisively. Not to disrespect Canberra, a good OPL team that's been solid year in and year out since day one, but to throw around accusations like that for no good reason is pretty lame.

His players were actually on our roster before the ECT game (we just couldn't play them since they'd played a game the day before with their old team), so that's just not true. We were gearing up for the playoffs, not for a week 15 match against Canberra.

Yeah, I definitely understand how the promotion/relegation system works; it was just a general comment. The lack of guttings is definitely making the effect more pronounced than in past seasons, though, which is awesome to see. Between the tournament and the Magellan Cup, you could make a very strong case that O-Pro is one of the toughest leagues out there, if not the toughest.

I think McGruff was giving a smartypants answer to my post, taking it literally.

No good reason? I don't know if your experiences differ, but I can safely say that this is the first time that I've ever been surprised to see someone on my team has coincidentally signed FIVE players to the team I am playing against, making there debut for that team in that game.
I don't think I'm wrong to ask questions of the situation, especially considering both the player involved nor anyone from the New Zealand team opted to inform anyone at Canberra about the conflict prior to the match...
