I'm an agent that has been around since Season 1. I have the occasional dot that gets sent to the big dance, and didn't start owning a team until 10 seasons ago. That said, I still, after many seasons of just lurking this forum and enjoying the banter (and it's certainly better than lurking a shitty collapsed Regional Pro or National forum), I still feel that this is my end goal with my own team, before I finally retire. From that standpoint, I wish for this league to be the best of the best, each and every season.
I know that even on a good day, the team I've assembled, (albeit young -- pfft, as if that were a real minus), couldn't hold the Blaze's jock. Blaze is a great team with great dots, and great personalities, regardless if quite a few are forum villains. World League needs teams like the Blaze, whether you want to stick to a GLB policy or not. Those dots aren't going to stay put in USAPL another season to beat up on Perennial Pro Teams. Those dots are going to move up and bolster already stacked rosters up in World League. The only thing you'd be killing off would be the symbolism of the team Chocolate Blaze promoting. At that point, what did you honestly win?
Maybe promotion needs tweaking to start considering Ranked Scrimmages, Stats during the Regular Season, Niboris-type Rankings, or even a player vote, Pro League Tourney Results, etc.. It might provide some extra incentive to care more about the regular season, GLB Tourney games and ranked scrimmages, vs. lolAI. Just a random thought.
So, why play the playoffs? lol that's horrible.
If there's extra spots, your suggestion has merit, but CCG (Or CG only) winners should move up, otherwise fuck the playoffs.
