I don't like the deterioration, but I love the perm bonuses.

Valid points.

I certainly wouldn't want to get this implemented because it's something I just thought about on the fly and is not well-thought out obviously.

It was a good idea at first, and definitely has some potential, but we'd need to redo the morale system (which is something I also feel needs to be done)

Morale could be broken into four types:

Team Momentum
Personal Morale
Personal Momentum
Intimidated/Confident (how you perform against specific players)

But currently, it's just one:

Morale

How about the reserve working like Second Wind (i.e. kicking in between halves or between quarters)? That would allow your player to get worse as he makes mistakes during a quarter or half, but then can recoup in the period breaks rather than never lowering at all until the overage is spent.

Pretty much my worry about the removal of deterioration.

Deterioration's main purpose was to not allow you to just buy everything and sit on it. I was figuring there'd be an "auto-referb" option for it so you don't have to think about it if you don't want to.

Sorry if this has been mentioned already, I haven't looked back through all the pages.

I understand that the point of the salary cap is to "balance" teams. However, in a game like GLB, will it really accomplish that? We're given a fairly level playing field to create players. It's not like we have generational talents like LeBron, where people will have to spend their money wisely to get him cheaper help. If we're going to be spending all our cap money on our star players, isn't that just going to penalize "less important positions"?

I know if I'm building a team, I want my money to go to the difference makers. Every team is going to spend their money on the high effective level HB, QB, or what not. Who's going to spend money on depth players? 4th/5th receivers are just going to be scrubs. Aren't you really just penalizing people who build players well? It's just like the current NFL draft argument. Despite common consensus that Suh and McCoy are the better talents, the Rams are going QB because that's where they want to spend the money.

Every top team is going to spend the money on those players. So, in the future, what will be the point of making a good DT?

Let me ask you all this.

What exactly is the main objective for the finacial changes. What is it that you truly want to affect?

Seriously, I am trying to help you guys out by bumping this. This is a solid middle-ground, and will not make morale near useless at the high levels...give this a long hard look...

There would be seasonal bonuses as well, so not exactly the case. The problem with the perm bonuses is that you need to gimp on salary and seasonal/temp boosts to by them, and it also continues to make the rich become richer. By getting rid of the perm bonuses finances will not be much of a hassle, will still require some basic thought, and will basically reset after each season so everyone is on an equal ground.

Yeah, I say just keep it...I mean how hard is it to see a button that says "fix stadium deterioration - 4,000,000" and that figure goes up each season if you dont pay for it eventually until it dissappears if you dont pay for it......

I'd be all for keeping deterioration.

Once again, I need to mention this about morale and all the changes related to it:

How do I watch morale?
How do I see exactly what it is doing?

When I had a Center I hated Line General because I needed to invest in it in case it actually DID do what it claimed to do, but I could never know and never see a direct result.

Morale is like that 10 times.

Either don't do anything or else go with some variation of the second plan. But I am not sure why the first plan, which is complicated and does nothing to make the game more fun, is being resurrected.

What if the reserve worked this way.

The reserve is added to a low morale threshold - say something like 70 or 80. If you hit 70 or 80, then you would stay at that threshold until the reserve was depleted.

I can live with the original concept though too - especially with morale effects being doubled next off season, but just tossing that idea out there.

A system that is deeper than "minimum contracts for all, buy stadium before EQ"

HIs position and level

The original plan's idea was to compare to other players at the same position in the league.

Anyway to expand on that, or too complicated?

I like this, it settles Staz's worry about morale without devaluing it
