Ok, I'm going to say that #1 is complete bullshit. It's the second time someone has said it, and it's incorrect.

Here's why: http://goallineblitz.com/game/game.pl?game_id=566880

This was the first game we played after the "stealth addition of May 14th", at least I think that was the date.

Of the SEVEN interceptions on that game, 5 were on knocked loose balls. Now... how come I never threw 5 INT's in a game before that? Nothing changed right, it was just "changed in the pbp"????

If you don't see that something WAS changed there, then your eyes aren't open.

They were always in the game. That one season Knocked Loose/INTs were crazy but that had nothing to do with him adding anything to the play by play. I don't see how that's evidence he added them in the game. In fact he even talked about carrying helping WRs hold onto the ball back in like season 5 or so which was way before the KL/INT fiasco.

That is a great percentage of catches.

I had to work up some 2ndary attributes to get that.

Maybe 1% of te's in this game have those stats.

If you started a new build, would you rank your priorities differently?

Uhhh its not 85% of the passes thrown his way but 85% of the passes that touched his hands.

How about this, 85% of the catches that were catchable, is that better?

Either way, it's an impressive stat....

I looked at my TE, last year in APL:

60 Targets
42 Catches (70%)
12 PD (20%)
5 Knocked Loose (8%)
1 Drop (2%)

I believe he had slightly less than 50 CAR for most of the season. I'd credit his success to not being overplayed (20-25 snaps), good routes, and since he is only 226 LBs he seemed to be a lot more nimble that my now retired TE that weighed 30 lbs more.

Impressive stat for this game, not an impressive stat in RL.

Braylon Edwards led the league in drops last season. He dropped 13 passes, caught 55 passes. Those were easily the worst numbers in the NFL last season yet on GLB it would rank among the best.

That's not impressive at all. It'd be better if you worked out how much % of targets he caught.

Except that doesn't take into account how many times he was targeted that the QB threw a bad pass,

If he touches 100 balls, and catches 85 of them, that is one helluva season.

No, it's not Sam. Brandon Marshall is a NFL WR known for having inconsistent hands, he caught 89.5% of passes that touched his hands last season...he had 11 drops and 104 catches...that's one of the NFL's WORST. Now, the best NFL WRs when it comes to catches to TOTAL targets are in the 73-77% range...I believe Wes Welker was the #1 WR at 77% of targets caught.

EDIT: Welker caught 74.5% so I was a little off. The best in the NFL are in the 70% to 75% range.

drops in the NFL aren't drops on glb. Knocked loose drops aren't counted as drops in the NFL, i believe.

though I could be wrong.

My receiver caught 61 and dropped 4...2 of which I believe were knocked loose. I'll take 97% or wtvr.

I'm not sure if they are or aren't.

The NFL doesn't keep an official stat for dropped passes. There is no official way of determining what constitutes a drop. Many teams do keep their own stats on times targeted.
