Good game, RT. I need a drink.

Cyanide?

Bonus tokens ensure none of us can take any game for granted.

So what you really meant to say was the only reason we won was because we used bonus tokens?

I think what bothers the so-called elite teams is that they are unsure if they had a good game plan or whether their opponent pulled out their little blue pills and beat them senseless with a massive, artificial erection.

I don't know for sure if you guys used your boner tokens or not and, therefore, have no idea if what we tried to do just didn't work or was rendered helpless because we were dealing with a monster created by temp boosting. That alone is why I absolutely hate these boner points.

We had a good gameplan today. Were saving are blue pills for the playoffs. Next time pack your lunch when you play the Titans.

Ummmm.... you cant use the magical blue pills in during the playoffs

There's no +5 temp boost in the playoffs. You can still use your four bonus tokens, but you'll only get the extra SP.

I don't like the implication. If people don't know what the fuck they are talking about, they should just not say anything.

I also know that McGruff does not honestly believe that any team that pulls out their little blue pills will be able to come in and get the W. Game planning and optimal builds are still a huge part of the equation.

What McGruff said does hold true though. No team can take another team too lightly with Bort's addition of boner tokens. Any team at any time can mass-temp boost for you and, therefore, you should never judge any team by the numbers because they may be saving up to lay the wood on you.

I would like for you to point to where one of us implied/made an excuse that RTT saluted us. I believe it was someone from another team who implied this. Lukin and others only argued why there is a problem with the boner tokens. Do you disagree that the boner tokens take away from the regular season games?

I didn't see anyone from the 'Nites make that accusation, but I do disagree that the temp. boosts take away from the regular season games. I think they represent an element of real football that didn't exist here previously, that being players sometimes get up for certain games and play above their means. For instance, Oregon State beat USC this year. They clearly played and tried harder for that game, and I would see that as a real life example of players "boosting' before a big game.

Therein lies the problem... you forgot to mention that USC overlooked Oregon State. Do you really think OSU could have beaten USC had USC been pumped up for that game? Each season you are going to have a couple teams with targets on their backs (previous seasons champs are surely to be on of those teams) that the majority of teams will save their boosts for. It appears that each team will be able to boner up around 3 times a year. The teams with the target on their back will be able to choose only a few games to boner up yet may face 16 games where their opponent is bonering up to beat try to beat them. You would be wrong to assume that the teams this said targeted team chose not to boost for were overlooked (they would boost for them if they could). That said, I just dont see how anyone can really feel that the boner tokens dont take away from the regular season.

We have never accused another team of bonering up against us, although I would not be surprised if it has happened. We also congratulated all three teams that beat us both publicly and privately via PM (except RTT, who I have not contacted via PM). Both Vanuata and IC game planned very well against us and I could see it when watching the film. I don't doubt that the same can be said for RTT, but I have yet to truly go over the film (partially because I am bummed at the loss right now and partially because I am already looking ahead at the Gods).

The Nites respect every opponent and will not make an excuse for a loss unless we truly feel that something happened that should not have, such as a bug (not user error) in the AI or a major Bortification (which he has been careful about since the major problem with the passing game back in Season 2).

For the record, my comment was directed at the person who made the post, not the Nites.

To be honest, I don't understand why teams would use their bonus tokens against very good teams. I would use them against equal teams to get a clear advantage, not against a better team.

Right now I would think its fair to say that there are around 9 very good teams in OPL Zeta that boner tokens could be a deciding factor in the games. How do you decide which 3 to use them on when potentially all 9 teams will beat you if they boner up and you dont?

Its now part of the game and we all have to deal with it whether we like it or not.

Its another strategy hurdle. The playoffs will be crazy as I now have no idea what to expect.

I said it earlier, congrats to RTT! You WON and you deserved it today. Good luck to your team as you move on.

I guess I don't see the problem. A real life boost isn't as easy as just pressing a button like it is on here. There's an entire mindset of motivation that goes into it. It's a lot harder for a strong team to get motivated against a weak opponent than vice versa. Therefore, I don't think the top teams would have the ability to boost against everyone in a real life scenario. Teams like USC overlook teams like Oregon State all the time. They'll usually try to get by on their natural skill while looking forward to a stronger opponent or rival, and it works most of the time.

Sure, I think the system is unfair for the top teams. I believe you have a legitimate complaint, and there's a case to be made for not having such a system in the game. However, still I think it has a basis in reality and it adds another level of planning to the game for most teams.

Also, I agree with wombat that they shouldn't always be used against the best teams, but rather in the best scenarios and more even matchups. If you're on the playoff bubble, you'll want to use them against the teams you're competing with over that playoff spot. Similarly, if you're fighting for that last home playoff game, you'll want to use them for games that will best improve your chances of getting it.
