This. We're taking a slight loss from this even with the additions.

actually, you are not - you are increasing the net price a little more

Currently to play a QB through plateau it cost the following:
15.31 per day

In new system:
15.36 per day

I went ahead and threw out Catch's "lesser" flex option, because we all know damn well that EVERY DOT in Pro will be needing that extra season of boosts and that extra tree on their AEQ to be a part of any self respecting pro team.

I love the idea and the implementation looks well thought out. But to pretend that they are potentially losing money on this is silly as can be!!!!

no one has actually accused bort and company of being particularly good at analysis or cost accounting.

And GLB continues it's decline.

You have spent a lot of money on GLB, haven't you. I am sure you are keeping them afloat with all that you spend.

I don't think the amount of $$ a person has spent should merit bashing...especially from an "Admin". Big spenders or little spenders, they all make GLB go.

A lot of people are trying to grasp everything in the first couple hours. The last thing needed is to take the wrong approach towards them. When the numerous threads about "What can we do to increase membership" pop up...these are the types of things that discourage people from sticking around or joining

Personally, I don't think this is the decline of GLB. I actually think it will make the game a bit more enjoyable to those that dread the first half dozen seasons of dot-building. Hitting the PRO circuit in 6 seasons will enable people to start focusing more time developing their dots earlier; they won't have the luxury of waiting around.

one BIG item is the 200 flex for those equipment bonuses not being refundable - they need to make that refundable to balance this out better

for 100 FP positions, the cost goes up 32.2%

for 200 FP positions, the cost goes up 18.8%

for 300 FP positions, the cost goes up 13.6%

feel free to check my math - I would love to find out I made a mistake

system...........................current....new
seasons til decline...........14.........10
initial cost..........................100......100
CE.......................................900......900
boosting seasons.............11.........7
3 boosts / season..............3...........3
total boosts.......................33..........21
flex cost to boost............3300....2100
total flex cost..................4300.....3100
refunded flex..................3040.....2200
spent flex........................1260.......900
net cost/season..............90............90

3 extra boosts................................300
loss after refund...............................90
bonus eq - no refund....................200
added loss.....................................290
new total loss...............1260......1190
new net cost/season......90........119 -----> an increase of 32.2% per season

and before you say "you don't have to spend the extra flex for the new stuff", yeah right - just like you don't "have to buy CE" either

Season 8-10 (560 days): PLAYER AGE: 400

No game or training XP. Player enters extended plateau dependent upon number of boosts as follows:

20 boosts = 120 days (3 seasons)
-6 days for each boost <20
0 boosts = 0 days

I don't get how older dots convert. What happens to the dots who start season 24 at 440 days, 400 days, at what portion of their plateau do they land. Am I correct in that there is no season like 400-440 one in the new system?

Plateau doesn't need to be extended, people. Jesus, three seasons is plenty. You could actually argue that it being three seasons has actually made things less competitive in the Pro leagues because elite teams stay dominant for longer.

THIS
System changes will not make teams more or less competitive in WL or national pros. The powerhouse teams are not there by accident. They build dots better, they recruit better, they have better coordinators. Extending the shelf life of dots at the end-stage conversely extends their rosters/dominance.
Now if you want to wait a year or two and hope APD causes an increase in older dots into the market, then perhaps at that point the lesser teams will have a shot at increasing their roster talent with more of the leftovers.

This is what people have been asking to get implemented for almost as long as I can remember being around GLB. Now that it's finally here everyone is complaining about it. From what I can see, this is not a cash grab at all. The new CEQ upgradable part is in question a small bit I suppose, but the rest seems great. I think adding that additional season to plateau would be smart, and overall find this to be a very good idea. Just my two cents.

the system is fine if the costs had remained the same

because you wont be building your players on day 40 now, because thats still past of the last season, you will create your players on day 0 so you dont start declining until the end of your last season
