I spent some time in an ER this weekend (minor problem, nothing to be worried about and its resolved) and I knew going in there would be a bit of a wait. So I polished off more than half of a book regarding effectively managing people. All of that great advice made me irritable today when having to deal with my own boss whose obviously never read the book. The people that report to me don't seem to have any problem with me to begin with, so all in all I think I would have been better off to have spent that time in the waiting room reading something vapid rather than having recent confirmation from a management expert that my boss has a hell of a lot to learn about communicating well with others. 
ha, yeah, I've taken a few leadership development courses (thinking of possibly going into school admin, mainly so you'll loathe me even more, Lar-man), and it's seriously fucking sad when you start really thinking about what leadership in the workplace is, what it takes, etc, then you realize how few leaders in any profession actually possess those qualities/ethic
