Gart has it right, as he usually does.
To elaborate a bit:
The very best teams generally have excellent builds across the board, and a few that are exceptional even amongst the elite.
Tactics are very important, but assumedly many if not most of the teams at this level are good enough to put together a high quality gameplan...the top 8 teams in each conference definitely have game planning that ranges from competent to exceptional.
At the end of the day however, games vs the likes of Drygerian will come down to whther your dot is good enough to stop their dot...Jedi, Dooley and Jericho each present real challenges to the defense, and while a good defensive scheme with solid players will stop most opponents 95% of the time, it takes a good scheme with excellent players to stop that trio.
That's the real difference...the edge between really good and great which is played out exclusively in World League.
Can you tackle Jedi? Can you cover Jericho or pressue the QB quickly enough to take him out of the equation? Can you keep Dooely from getting an edge? Or will their TE (is it still Megan Raine?) dump your LDE then move on to dump your LOLB?
You might have the right defense called, but if your dots are simply over-whelmed, you won't get the job done.
It's a brutal league...every team here is used to winning...a lot.
But there are a few teams that are just better, in the same way that you were just better amongst the Pro league you recently left.
I think the toughest thing is to know you are maybe the 4th best team, but to know the gap between you and number 1 is just too wide to overcome.
There are a shit-ton of teams and players on this site. These are the very best of the best. There's no shame in losing up here. (unless you lose to BFM )This, emphatically.
The best way to win in GLB is: one, get the best dots, two devise an AI that consistently puts your dots one-on-one with their dots.
