Parma was the only team that lost something tangible from this outcome as the Fruits leaped us to take that 2nd seed and potential home playoff game with that win.
So from our perspective, yes, we wished the game was played "straight up" and that we could "fall" into the second seed. But our gripes are limited as Passion beat us early in the season head to head (and we lost to København Hühnerfalken 20-3).
Question: I do ask everyone defending the Passion Fruits that if you were beat by the same strategy, don't you think you'd respond in the same way as the København camp? I know this is just dot football, but you are lying if you don't take it seriously and hope that you get a realistic sim each time you log on to view your games.
From my perspective, København's problem is that Passion used a known exploit of S8. Although technically not cheating, it sure as hell isn't very fun to watch or play against. on the other hand, it sure is hard to feel much sympathy for a team that brought level 47s into an A league, don't you think? that clearly isn't "intended" either, as bort has done several things to penalize high level players playing in low level leagues.
as you said, you guys are the only ones this actually affected (other than us), so you actually have a right to bitch. we felt we needed the money more than you though. take it out on us in the playoffs.

anyway, i defended the strategy when the waxers used it to end santiago's 86 game win streak in SA pro, and i still will. under no circumstance is an hb ot/slam/dive an exploit. an exploit is discovering that kicking off with a lineman makes the KR team bug out and stand there so you can pick up the ball and run for a td. an exploit is discovering that if your hb has 25 first step he can take the handoff and teleport downfield past the secondary. hb ot/slam/dive is just an overpowered set of plays. they are hard to stop right now, and require a defense to sacrifice in other areas to contain it, but isn't that part of the strategy? those run plays are a staple of EVERY team's playbook, so is everybody "exploiting" at various levels? where do you draw the line? again, it is possible to stop them enough to give you a chance to win. kobenhaven damn near contained it enough just by sheer virtue of outleveling us by 10-14 without adjusting a goddamn thing in their playbook.
we have and will never use actual exploits in games. we have and will, however, do everything we have to short of that to win must-win games. fortunately, kobenhaven is the only team that we feel our normal AI doesn't give us a chance to win, and that is strictly because of their huge level advantage. it sure isn't fun to watch even from the winning side, but i'd be willing to bet the other 14 teams here haven't had a blast watching their well built level 34 linemen get torched by a level 47 DE, and i doubt they've enjoyed watching their HBs fumble 3-4 times a game just because the LBs they're going up against are 12 levels higher.
the real kicker here is that the only way to counter kobenhaven's "tactic" of outleveling everyone by 10-14 is our little tactic of dominating the time of possession. they seem to have taken exception to our tactic because it proved their tactic is not unstoppable.
