After reading through 25! pages of this, I can honestly say that I'm happy with the way this has been handled. There could not possibly be a better choice for a moderator than Satchmo. He has been nothing but pure class since the very first day that we ever had contact, and I'd expect nothing less going forward. Truly he is one of the good guys here. Well done Bort, and this is most definitely a step in the right direction for the community of GLB.

Unfortunately, titles can't be edited.

And thanks boondocksaint for that entirely spontaneous post.

The scouting report is on it's way.

While I'm happy that Bort stepped up and how it turned out, I'd honestly say that I still see nothing that would change things outside of SA.

This could start all over again in Africa/SEAsia.

All it takes is one mod to run wild for one day. Some mods I greatly respect, other mods I worry what could happen if they get pushed a little bit further.

SA gets its local mod, pretty sure the other non-USA/Canada regions deserve their own too.

I agree, but I definitely considered seorang's concern long and hard before deciding to stay. I believe what occurred today is a positive step all around, and I feel like Bort is sincere in his desire to address these problems.

Yes, after some discussion with DD, Tim's mod status has been removed. DO NOT MOCK OR FLAME HIM IN ANY WAY OR I WILL NOT BE HAPPY WITH YOU (your warning).

We will be hiring a new admin in about 2 weeks to help clean up our forum and oversee mods.

As to Satch, I feel bad about what happened with you, even if I can't find that durn PM. How can we help earn your trust back? Do you actually want to be a mod? Do you have the time and energy it requires?

I would like to thank Bort for taking the time to go through this thread, and really talking and working with several of the GLB members. Its appreciated to know people have been heard. I think that's what part of the fuel for the week's fire was all this stuff was going down and it seemed like there wasn't anything happening. Bort had a good point about letting people calm down, but once again thanks for sorting this situation out and hearing the voice of reason.

Yeah I made a suggestion that each region gets its own mod.
