What do people think of Sik's morale overage idea?

Basically would be the initial system but instead of a morale penalty based on player salary, it would be an addition to pre-game starting morale. It wouldn't be a bonus but would basically keep player at 100 morale until that overage depletes.

So for example, Team Possessions add 20 points to their pre-game starting morale, they would start at 120 morale. It would act as if the player was at 100 until their morale was depleted below that level.

Where would those points come from?

What would it based on, if it wasn't player salary? That was the part that I seemed to miss.

Well, I'm not crazy about the "guess the value"...have it show up somewhere what a player's expected salary will be. Have it recalculate every offseason or something.

Yeah, have it show on the offer page what the player wants.

Ok, so the final version would look something like:

- Team possessions/promotions add to morale "reserve" for players
- Each position/level has an expected salary and reserve gets added/subtracted based on how much under/over they are
- Salary cap and everything else from original idea

And

- I make by super basic league with no finances for people who just wanna play ball.

I think that looks good.

I mean, what this does, is it incorporates the tactical signings of the first concept, with the "super team" penalty in this thread...WITHOUT the 2 major problems I've pointed out in this thread.

Subtracted? I thought the original idea of going over 100% morale stemmed from the fact that people don't like to see their players playing at sub-100% just because of how much they signed for.

Sounds like it would make morale reducing abilities be almost worthless again (assuming they get improved) and would make the recent morale/stamina changes almost worthless as well. If I end the game with 30 morale, adding the overage idea could easily prevent me from hitting a morale spiral and could let me play at a higher level for longer, ending with maybe 80 morale instead.

Possessions. This is based on the original idea.

I think ideas like this are more fun than what was originally presented. The "everyone starts at 50 morale before team items factor in" seemed to be the biggest sticking point.

I love it.

Subtract that from borts proposal and I think it will be a huge hit.

Any kind of restriction like that seems like loads of trouble. I love what you just typed catch. Hope it gets implemented

Add in the points that DB and others have made, and I like it a lot more than the currently proposed change. I am still not sure the whole finance re-vamp is needed, but I am taking a wait and see on that part and don't think it is nearly as complicated as it first seemed.

It'd be based on player salary and team possessions still but it wouldn't make a player play worse. Would just make their morale drain slower in essence.

No, nothing would be subtracted from the original morale, it would affect how big the reserve is is what he is saying I believe.

Subtracted from the reserve, I believe. Salary has to matter or there's no point to any of this.

A change of some sort is 100% needed. Cash farms have gotten out of control.
