IMO, looking at that replay it looks like the ball came in, he got a hand or two on it but never held it, and the defender knocked the ball out with his own hands or hit/shove the body enough to make it come out.

The replay says "caught and knocked loose" but I believe "caught" = "touch the hands of the receiver" in the sim and not actually grabbed the ball and had it in his hands. Sometimes it does, but not always.

Which is fine and I have long thought that as well but then change the fucking wording to "Pass to XXXXX, bobbled, knocked loose by XXXXXX. Dont tell me its "caught" and then have that shit happen.

he should get rid of the "caught" part, imo...because I don't think some of these are ever caught.

or at least distinguish ones that are actually caught and ones that are bobbled and/or just having a play made on them.

In both is looks like he got a hand to touch the ball but got it deflected.

Like i said,I am convinced that in the sim "caught" = ball touch hand or player made attempt to catch the ball, not actually caught as we think of it.


In these cases his speed (or lack thereof) seem to be the problem. not enough separation.
