Yep.

But buying music legitimately is about 100 times easier than it was a decade ago.

Cool.

Typing an album name into iTunes, paying 5 bucks, and having it within a couple minutes is just so much faster and easier than trying to find a torrent, hoping theres seeders, hoping it's real, and hoping it isn't full of viruses.

You're still wrong.

Yes, it is "wrong", and it is getting a "work of art" for free.

So is it wrong? Yes.

What does "on its deathbed" mean? That there are half as many seeders and I can still get anything I want just as easily as I ever could before with torrents?

Maybe if you listen to trash that ten million other people are all making available. If I want that new Canadian indie artist's album that I read about in some asshole's blog, iTunes has it on release day for under $10. It auto-populates the appropriate data and cover art. It doesn't contain viruses. If my phone gets eaten by a shark and I need to buy a new one, the music will automatically repopulate into my new device via USB connection or from the cloud.

Yeah, I'm willing to pay for that service.

No, he really isn't. I bet we could start a race and see who has the whole album loaded onto their handheld music listening device first and iTunes will win by minutes.

I bought all 4234 songs currently on my phone. I also have more on my laptop.

I worked in a music store for awhile and had some pretty good deals, so I bought a lot of music back then. However, I don't listen to all of it anymore, so I only take the albums that I still like with me.

from 92' to 04' i bought 500+ CDs. i had fcking everything. then one night i got drunk at a party and left my truck unlocked, and someone stole both my CD cases. i havent paid for any music ever since. i did some free downloads for a while(all the good rap from the 90's is on my mp3 player), but for the most part i just listen to the radio now, and have no desire to start buying music again.

What, Brill Bruisers? I could have that in 2 minutes.

Please, people, don't argue with me about torrenting music. If you care about irrelevant, OCD shit like getting your cover art, cool. Go pay a G for every 100 albums you want. It is not "so much faster and easier than finding a torrent, hoping there's seeders, hoping it's real, and hoping it isn't full of viruses". I could get that album in 2 minutes, with 2 clicks, it will have a few hundred seeders, it will be real, and if, hypothetically, I had torrented ~4000 albums over the course of my life, I would probably confidently be able to say I have never once gotten a virus in the process because I'm not an idiot.

I wasn't thinking TNP, I was thinking Zeus' new album "Classic Zeus".

Can't you buy NFL Game pass and get all the games you want?

I pirate stuff quite a lot - but I make an effort to buy what I can legitimately. Massive shows like Game of Thrones we get 3 hours after the US gets it so I watch that on a paid TV subscription... but 90% of shows either dont get shown down here or are months and months (sometimes years) behind, so I dont feel too bad about pirating stuff that I can't obtain otherwise.

But if you aren't making an effort to legitimately obtain content that is readily available to you - how is that any different to flogging something from a shop?

No. All local games are blacked out in the USA on online subscriptions for the nfl.

That problem derives from him being dumb since that isn't at all the only way he can get the games he wants.

Uh yes it is. Any online subscription for live streaming of nfl games blacks out any local games.

As for the antenna option... What's the difference between streaming for free and using the antenna? I'm watching the same commercials.
