That was my original idea tbh. Catch thought it was too hard to figure out or something along those lines and we came up with comparing it to other players.

Are you sure you want to tell teams who has to be the highest paid player? If you let teams decide that- it plays more of a strategic role rather than just highest sp player.

Because with decline, I may want to make my highest paid player the s6d0 player, rather than the s5d0 player bc I am banking on that wr being my go to guy?

I read all posts Chys - just trying to figure out what we're going to do here.

Well, I'm not crazy about the "guess the value"...have it show up somewhere what a player's expected salary will be. Have it recalculate every offseason or something.

just have it recalculate on the offer page.

right now we list minimum salary. have a 2nd listing of expected salary. make it obvious so there is no guess work - it would be like the player's agent was listing their "demands" during a contract negotiation.

I would hope you aren't forced to pay them a certain amount, it would just be what that player "expects". Then, a morale number (similar to the original idea, just adjusted to be based on expected salary not league average) is applied, and team/player possessions come into play. You can pay them whatever you want.

*laughs*

Or...we could all just admit that most of us came here to play football rather than deal with "salary".

Either way, I wouldn't make it a rash overnight decision, and it might be something that takes a while to figure out and push it back to Season 17 if you have to, just to get it "just right"

Ok, so the final version would look something like:

- Team possessions/promotions add to morale "reserve" for players
- Each position/level has an expected salary and reserve gets added/subtracted based on how much under/over they are
- Salary cap and everything else from original idea

And

- I make by super basic league with no finances for people who just wanna play ball.

I agree with this. Effective level doesn't mean that person is most important. My linemen always have crazy effective levels, but it's the glory boys that generally are affected most by morale. Also a little more realistic for stat padders to whine about their contracts ... just look at Chris Johnson.

I bought a team because I like the management aspect. If you don't like the extras, then whenever (if) the multiple types of leagues are released, you can choose which one you'd like to join based on how much effort you'd like to commit.

I, personally, love the added strategy. I may never be elite, or at the top, but I still enjoy the challenge and the "realistic" aspect.

Not the 1st to say to push it back to season 17.Even I agree with sjmay on this and we don't get along.
