Hendrick's Gin, love it.

Also I would add some Avion tequila into the mix. I prefer it over 1800 and Patron.

Oh and being in summer it's not on everyone's mind but try getting some wintery or autumnal flavors in there if you're a fan of seasonal drinks. I like the pumpkin spice liqueur in there, see if you can add some peppermint or something like that.

No real coffee liquor in there either, try adding some kahlua type stuff (but not actually kahlua, it tastes odd)

I recommend buying some authentic absinthe, then have Bushi over to show you how to do all the shit with the ice, sugar cubes, and special equipment needed to properly enjoy it.

He has Kahlua as well as many other liquors to dress up a really nice coffee drink on top of that within his list.

Sorta interested in the Pecan Praline Liqueur. A little of that, some bailey's, amaretto, and Kahlua with some coffee in the morning seems like a good way to start off my weekend.

I have some Coors light that someone left in my fridge four years ago and I keep forgetting to throw out, some red wine I got as gifts that I use for cooking, some Jack Daniels that I like to put in BBQ sauce, and some vodka that I plan on infusing with some fruit but can't find the time.

They're bugging out and my girlfriend is getting the fire extinguisher from underneath the sink, struggling to even figure out how one would use a fire extinguisher.

I shoo them away, grab the baking sheet from the top of the stove and smother it.

Scares me that they're both ICU nurses, basically trained to perform in high pressure situations.

Turn off oven, leave oven closed, fire smothers itself.

Also being trained to perform in a certain high pressure situation that you have a lot of training and practice for does not mean you will respond well to every situation. Most people will respond well to a situation they have practiced and are prepared for but will freak out if its something they have no experience with.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I have both Dry and Sweet Vermouths in my fridge as well as Apple Pie Moonshine. (I was standing in front of my bar when I typed the list.)

I wish I could stock more beer for mixing purposes. I have a few, but I normally just end up drinking them. lol My policy is generally BYOB. I definitely need a few basics, though - one or two of each. I should be able to fit that much in my fridge.

My home bar is my hobby. The bar, itself, was built by my dad. It's running out of space, though. There's not a whole lot of room to add more bottles. I have a fuck ton of glass and stemware. Maybe, when I finally build my shed, I can store away the glasses that will never be used and make more room for liquor. lol

It's been about a year since I started building up my collection. It's hard to build up at first because I like to sample shit when I buy something I'm not familiar with. Plus, we've had a few parties that depleted my collection while it was still in it's early stages. It's solid now. It's come in pretty damn handy. I pride myself on being able to host and offer people nearly anything they want.

I'd add some not too overpriced single-malt scotch options (a 12 year old Balvenie variety, Glenlivet 12)
improve your tequila menu (add more Sauza varieties, Cuervo is crap)

wine:
sauvignon blanc - crisp and refreshing
pinot noir - good by itself and goes well with a lot of foods

I really don't have any scotch drinkers among my friends and family, but I'll probably add another just to give a little variety.

I definitely need to expand my wine selection. I didn't think about it before, but I should probably get a wine fridge. I have place for the wine to store at room temp, but I don't want to take up any more fridge space. Unfortunately, wine is kinda in the category as beer at the moment. I haven't really had any wine requests. But, I'd like to have some for myself. Also, it would be nice to have some to make a few specialty drinks. Maybe, for X-mas, I'll buy myself a wine fridge.

Skip the glenlivet 12 and go for the 18. Not a huge price difference and the 18 was aged in different barrels, like ex-bourbon barrels IIRC, and gives it a much bolder taste.

I'd agree with expanding your Tequila. Cuervo is actually ok imo. I'm not a huge fan of anything other than anejo or silver, it's a full/heavy age or none at all for me on tequila. No aging so I can mix it or full aging so I can sip a little by itself or have it in a margarita

You really need more rum too. Plain rum, not flavored. Flavored is good and I like it but you really need some unflavored in there. Try some spiced or gold if you're looking for a drink-on-its-own type rum, any other type can go in cocktails

I definitely need to get some anejo tequila. I love anejo rum and I'm much more of a tequila guy, so I can only imagine.

We have a lot of local places that make rum. There's tons of sugar cane here. So, I'll prob hit up more of the local varieties. To be honest, though, I've already run out of space for both tequila and rum. lol It's the damned flavored vodka that's taken up space.

Noted. I have 2 of my really good friends who are gin drinkers. So far, the Bombay Sapphire has made them happy, but I've got a little room to add one more. I have a feeling I'll end up going for Patron. I don't care for it too much, but it's the crowd pleaser, which is ultimately what the bar is for. I'll still keep Avion in mind, though.

There was a coffee liquor I tried a few years ago that I really liked. I'll try to find it. Good call. We also have a coffee pot and expresso machine. We need to restock both with a bit more variety, but at least we have that going.

lol Bushi would never make it through my front door. Lurchy, I'm a bit hesitant about, but I can probably be persuaded. Pretty much anyone else is welcomed, though.

I do need to get more varieties of Crown. The wife is preggo, so I can actually keep it stocked now. lol But, once she has the baby, it'll be a task to keep any Crown.

It's one of the only ones I haven't tried. I hear it's amazing in coffee. It's a New Orleans brand.

We have our annual BBQ coming up on August 2nd. It's the first time in the new house, so I'm trying to get my ducks in a row for that. Hence, the reason me posting all of this.

It's definitely an expensive hobby to get into. Of course, most of the money is getting it started. It's not too bad to maintain it. Especially when you keep most of your own personal drinking to a cheap bourbon like Evan Williams. I've been in love with Knob Creek, though. I've been flying through that stuff. I really need to slow down. And I am, but still.

A family member had asked us to keep our glass bottles for the last three months because she wants to do an art project. I drink way too much bourbon.

I'm totally out of room, but I want to add some Woodford and maybe another top shelf bourbon. I have a friend that loves Booker's, but it's not my style. A bit too powerful for me. lol Many of my friends and family are bourbon drinkers.

Bulleit is the way to go for bourbon you aren't going to sip straight or on the rocks. It's not top shelf, but it's THE go to for Old Fashioned's or Kentucky Mule's or Mint Julep's or whatever you want. Really nice to play with.

If you lived in Kentucky it'd be what any speakeasy uses.

And you should likewise pick up a set of copper mugs if you have family/friends that are bourbon drinkers. It makes all the difference and really holds the cold well. More classic for a Moscow Mule but you can sub the vodka for bourbon to make it a Kentucky Mule (some people call it a Southern Mule, but a Southern Mule is whiskey, not bourbon).
