My understanding is it was a manipulation to get MVP gear to a specific player to rig for next season. That's why Bort removed it from them. Maybe this keeps happening? Judging by Bort's comment, it is.

It's all good. I'm just trolling them for the most part. Do I think they did any additional cheating to get where they are? I don't think so, but at this point it wouldn't surprise me. However, when you keep manipulating the system it just becomes exhausting and any accolades you earn become tarnished by previous actions.

I won't build dots for their teams and/or I try not to have players on the same team as them. Just avoid them all together. This goes for all those heavy multi users out there too. Especially the ones that take all the fun premium positions that keep new players interested. Those guys are ruining the game.

hmmm, i've OC'd for long time and I freely admit that if a player is in contention for MVP - then he gets OAi luv to help facilitate (not to detriment of overall team performance, of course). We've all had horses that we feed...

unlikely to this extent, where you controlled both teams

https://glb.warriorgeneral.com/game/game.pl?game_id=65294

they ran many practice games first to tweak things

https://glb.warriorgeneral.com/game/team.pl?team_id=10894

the other team was suddenbly available when BLARY rage quit because he wasn't as good as he thought he was and sold the team mid season

What would be a better fix would be shrinking Pro back down to one league, even if it's an expanded 16 team league. There's too many teams like PVAC that get into Pro with bad AIs, who put forth 0 effort to fix their tactics over the course of the season because they've accepted their fate. Or OHIO, rage quitting mid season. Punching bags, effectively. Like has been said, we didn't need these games or stats to win the MVPs, it's just something I enjoy to rack up stats. Better than spending 2 days doing absolutely nothing because we are playing against robot teams. The game linked above my Tomcic was PVAC's real live DAI that they ran all season. We didn't take over control of their team for the day and set up any special tactics on their end.

Getting rid of MVP gear would be great. There's enough of a randomness factor within the sim itself. Or just make the Pro gear match the gear from the minor leagues, things like +2 attribute, +1 to a single SA, etc.

Question - if something like this was done in Rookie, or casual, or AA league, would it even be a discussion right now? Or is the fact that it happened in the top level league the main issue? If so, further reason to look into Pro league structure and/or the MVP gear bonuses.

because it happened in the top league where players are all at the same level and the playing field is most level I imagine

minors has too many teams with level differences and farm teams that are not trying

This entire league is assumedly owned by a single person. Bought every team and only one of the team has dots on it. Will be interested to see what he does with it

The narcissist in me is angry that I'm not included on the Bort Dort roster of GLB agents.

If it makes you feel better you'd defintely be a key player on my Bort Dort roster. Probably a CB.

As a newer player, I've got to say it's pretty weird seeing what seems like older, more mature members of this community straight-up cheating or finding ways around the rules. Whether it's messing with gear to tank games or setting up AI to pad MVP numbers, it just feels off—especially in such a small community where everyone knows each other.

Look, if some 19-year-old was using wallhacks in CS:GO, whatever. But when it's prominent community members doing this stuff and then joking and gloating about it publicly on the forums? That's genuinely embarrassing.

The game creator already ruled on this and handed out punishments. It's cheating, period. You can debate whether it SHOULD be considered cheating, but that's a separate conversation.

I've been playing for almost a year and really love this game, but this kind of drama absolutely drives away new players. And here's the thing that really gets me—these same people complaining about no competition and everyone else being terrible are the ones making it harder for new players to want to stick around and actually learn the game to HAVE new competition.

If you're dominating the top leagues and then cheating because you're bored, you're basically telling new players not to bother trying to get good at building dots, learning to OC/DC, or putting in the time to compete because its all fixed anyway.

You're killing off the exact fresh blood that would give you the competition you say you want.

And for people who use multi accounts to get around having to pay for flex, you are actively killing the game. This is probably a small earner to Bort who is going to put in just enough effort to keep the monthly revenue ticking over and by you getting around that, other people will find out and do the same, dropping flex point purchases and making it more likely for Bort to just discontinue development and hosting.

Give your heads a wiggle you're supposed to be adults.
