Alpha Division Preview

Phoenix Retirees
Projected finish: #1

Last seasons record: 11-3, made playoffs

Overview:
- Phoenix has reloaded, and taken a step further this offseason. Returning the most prolific passer from last year, along with his favorite targets, promises fireworks on the offensive end. Meanwhile a S* laden defense looks on the surface to be the best in the league. Look for them in the championship game.

Offense:
Key returners: QB Hare Razor (Returning OMVP), WR Chip Munk (#3 receiver last year)

Promising newcomers: HB Charlie Chaplin (elusive back), HB Ser Roland of Brittany (Speed/receiving back)

Strengths: Passing, Offensive Line
Weaknesses: Inside Running, TE Depth

Defense:
Key returners: 4 S*: SS Randall Hogue, DE Flashbang Flanders, DT Demarcus Saunders, DT Del Mabry

Promising newcomers: No new players

Strengths: D-Line, Star Power
Weaknesses: SS Depth

Cincinnati Dinosaurs
Projected finish: #2

Last seasons record: 12-1-1, lost in finals

Overview:
- Cincinnati is clearly hurt by the departures from last season. They've lost stars on every side of the ball. That should prevent a repeat of the impressive run from last season, but they should compete for the wild card.

Offense:
Key returners: QB Darth Vader, HB Salamander Dreadnought

Promising newcomers: QB Bobby Light

Strengths: QB play
Weaknesses: Chemistry, RB depth

Defense:
Key returners: DE Ben Derhover, CB Test Interceptor(2x best CB), LB Brad Van Pelt (S16 DMVP), LB Bill Romanowksi, (S17 Butkus Winner)

Promising newcomers: DE Tom Donowitz (Champion last year)

Strengths: Pass Rushing, Secondary
Weaknesses: LB Depth, Run defense

Hartford Walkers
Projected finish: #4

Last seasons record: 0-14

Overview:
- The dismal Walker squad from S17 has seen few improvements. Although they look tougher than last year's team, that will mean little when multiple teams have seen great improvements due to the changes. The challenge for them this season will be to win a game.

Offense:
Key returners: None

Promising newcomers: QB Viet Trieu, HB Mundie "Buttered" Biscuits

Strengths: Low expectations
Weaknesses: Pretty much everything

Defense:
Key returners: None

Promising newcomers: FS Seb Free

Strengths: Low expectations, Chemistry
Weaknesses: Everything else

Leeds Chartered Accountants
Projected finish: #3

Last seasons record: 3-11

Overview:
- The team that won only one game against someone not Hartford returns with some improvements. They won't compete yet with the big dogs in the Senior League, but should beat Hartford up a couple times and potentially spoil a wild card contender's season. They have a QB to build around in Stretch Armstrong.

Offense:
Key returners: TE Bus Depot, ST BONUS: K Too Dark Washington

Promising newcomers: QB Stretch Armstrong (Former Whoville Whos QB), HB Mike Alstott (Senior League Old Timer, S1 Vet)

Strengths: New QB is a star, should bring immediate improvement
Weaknesses: CPU WRs, OTs, Gs

Defense:
Key returners: CB John Hamilton,

Promising newcomers: CB Syed Hooker (<33% rec rate against WRs last season)

Strengths: Secondary
Weaknesses: # of human players, D-Line

Beta Division Preview

Houston Slugs
Projected finish: #4

Last seasons record: 3-11

Overview:
- Houston comes off a rough season, finishing at the tail end of Beta Division. Things don't look brighter this year; although they have made some improvements, it won't be enough to keep pace with the rest of the league.

Offense:
Key returners: HB James Brooks, HB Little Foot

Promising newcomers: QB Brady Golson (Cincinnati QB last season)

Strengths: HB Chemistry
Weaknesses: CPU count

Defense:
Key returners: CB Dirk Diggler

Promising newcomers: LB Manny "Mangia" Fishnchips, DE Seb DE

Strengths: CB Dirk Diggler
Weaknesses: Chemistry, CPU Count

Saskatoon Sleepers
Projected finish: #1

Last seasons record: 11-5, made playoffs

Overview:
- If anything stops the Sleepers from making the playoffs this year, it will be changes to the sim. The returning monster run game combines with serious defensive improvements to make the Sleepers the class of Beta Division

Offense:
Key returners: HB C'Mon Man (S17 ST MVP, #3 Rusher), HB Dmitri Carey (#2 Rusher), QB Mr Bean

Promising newcomers: G Trevor Cave (Many SL Cake Trophies), WR Randy Moss

Strengths: Run game
Weaknesses: WR Depth

Defense
Key returners: DE Coming ForYou, DE RipN Shred

Promising newcomers: DT Barrett Wallace, LB Jacque Delatorre

Strengths: Pass rush, D-Line, LB range
Weaknesses: Too many CBs, not enough Ss, LB Tackling

Louisville Rollers
Projected finish: #3

Last seasons record: 4-10

Overview:
- Coming in third last season, Louisville will have to fight to make sure they don't drop this season. They'll be on the outside looking in as Jacksonville has made to many moves to be caught this season. They do return a 1000 yd rusher in Rico Tubbs, who will help them win tough games.

Offense:
Key returners: HB Rico Tubbs, HB Jamie Coven

Promising newcomers: QB Dos Lobos (S17 Kitten League MVP)

Strengths: Quality human players
Weaknesses: Too many CPUs, Line depth

Defense:
Key returners: DT Rock Steady (#1 in hurries S17)

Promising newcomers: CB Daniel Trogdon

Strengths: Pass rush, DTs
Weaknesses: Didn't add many new players, Chemistry

Jacksonville Grandpas
Projected finish: #2

Last seasons record: 8-6

Overview:
The story for the Grandpas is less about what was added as what was lost, with two S*s leaving the team including the #1 rusher from last season, Leroy Kelly. Can the Grandpas recover? They've made good moves but will have to fight hard for the division or wild card spot.

Offense:
Key returners: 15 total including 2 QBs and 4 WRs

Promising newcomers: WR Catch Radius (#1 Rec TDs in S17), HB Quag Meier (ST ace, 7.7 ypc last season)

Strengths: Passing Game, Chemistry
Weaknesses: New HBs

Defense:
Key returners: CB Erik Flescher, DE The Terminator

Promising newcomers: LB The Mentalist

Strengths: Pass rush
Weaknesses: CB Depth (2?)

Gamma Division Preview

Nashville Naps
Projected finish: #4

Last seasons record: 9-5

Overview:
- Nashville comes off a successful season that left them just short of the playoffs. The drop from there looks precipitous, as they've lost several players, and look to be taking a huge chemistry hit. The defense in particular looks extremely suspect. While they could look forward to a top 3 finish in any other division, in this one they look set to be at the bottom.

Offense:
Key returners: QB JimBob Cooter, 3 HBs

Promising newcomers: None

Strengths: Offensive Backfield, WRs
Weaknesses: Line depth, Chemsitry

Defense:
Key returners: None

Promising newcomers: LB Sergeant Snake Eyes (4x DMVP, 1x DMVP Runner up)

Strengths: New LB corps
Weaknesses: Massive Chemistry hit, # of CPUs

Eugene Elderly
Projected finish: #2

Last seasons record: 7-6-1

Overview:
- The Eugene Elderly are going to be in a dogfight against the Wrinkles this season as each fight for wild card positioning. Both teams are strong, but Eugene has great returning players and serious S* power. They should eke out key victories and pass the Wrinkles for 2nd place

Offense:
Key returners: HB Juwan Butler (S16 OMVP), C GxDOGGx Superstar, literally everyone else

Promising newcomers: None

Strengths: Chemistry, Run game
Weaknesses: WR Corps

Defense:
Key returners: LB "Keep Pounding" Field Mouse, SS Mark Kelso

Promising newcomers: DT Bunker Buster (S* Pass Rushing DT with multiple trophies)

Strengths: D-Line, LB corps
Weaknesses: Too many FSs (4), CB Depth (3)

New York Lindy Hoppers
Projected finish: #1

Last seasons record: 5-8

Overview:
- The worst team from the best division last season, the Lindy Hoppers got the benefit of being adopted by Xars. Now they're the first team of S18 to be full of human players. While this will cause a chemistry hit early, it should mean that they are a juggernaut at the end of the season. While they probably won't go undefeated, they should be the gold standard before long.

Offense:
Key returners: HB Meat Head

Promising newcomers: HB Ser Bors of Banwick (Power/Scat Back), TE Boy TE Pass (Rec Yards leader in S17), HB Damien Cockburn (Fury's old elusive/scat HB)

Strengths: Passing game, Pass catching HBs, O Line Depth
Weaknesses: Early Chem hit, no great RB

Defense:
Key returners: LB Tri Axe, SS Demitry Kavanov

Promising newcomers: CB Cover 4, all Xars' other players

Strengths: Depth, Secondary coverage, ridiculous balance
Weaknesses: Chemistry

Washington Wrinkles
Projected finish: #3

Last seasons record: 11-3, won Championship

Overview:
- After bringing home Gamma Division's first Greybeard Cup, the Wrinkles look set for one hell of a hangover. Eugene and New York have both significantly improved, and being in the same division could cost the Wrinkles dearly. They are still a quality team, and have a fighting chance; it will all be down to how they can perform in head to head matchups.

Offense:
Key returners: HB Marion Barber (Greybeard Cup MVP), HB Richie Andrews, QB Professor Plum

Promising newcomers: WR Brody Junior, WR Andre "Bad Moon" Rison

Strengths: HBs, O-Line
Weaknesses: WR Depth, QB Chemistry

Defense:
Key returners: DE Mega Watt (S17 DMVP), DT Megan Man, DE John Rambo, DE Mack Attack

Promising newcomers: CB Major Jax Briggs

Strengths: Pass Rush, Defensive Line
Weaknesses: DT Depth (only 1), Secondary

NY has no SHIP. That's the goal.

Ok everyone. Team up and stop me or something.

That's what I'm hoping but looks like the Rollers won't be Rolling this season.

I'll release initial rankings after the 3 divisional matchups. Before then there's no data to compare
