I have an experimental plan. At vet he won't be running outside much.

With little outside running he won't break the line of scrimmage before he gets destroyed. Nothing really to experiment with there. You should honestly think about redoing your offensive philosophy and maybe reset instead of wasting a lot of flex on an experiment that 99% of GLB2 knows will not work.

Yeah, if you're conceding that you aren't going to run outside the tackles, you're just gonna get devoured by Middle Overload and put up a bunch of goose eggs on offense.

Good luck though.

Middle Overload sucks at higher levels.

I will run outside...just not with my power back.

So you're saying your only using the powerback for GL formation, and your other back for the other formations?

I don't think that powerback will be effective at all in GL. It's really a formation better suited for elusive backs to exploit the off-tackle plays and the ability to bounce outside on slam/blast type plays when the defenders have all been consolidated into the middle of the field by the formation setup. It's pretty unfriendly to powerbacks with the convergence of defenders being able to gang-tackle pretty easily.

Middle Overload doesn't suck when it's used for what it's intended. There aren't many defenses capable of regular TFLs against inside runs. MO is probably the best for that.

Yeah, GL Off Tackle is sooo good for fast as hell elusive types. That's a home running hitting play. Didn't realize how dangerous they were until I started scouting Richmond Raiders.

It's embarrassing, I spent way too much time scouting Richmond Raiders, figured out a decent enough defense...but the offense, blegh.

Well good luck with that because you can't avoid having your pHB included in the pitches unless you have your speed back or QB only run outside in specific formations. And if that's the case teams are just going to line up to stop those outside runs since there's no inside threat.

WCW has run Xavier on GL/STs only all season leaving our blocking HB to assist for our QB run only offense. He has been pretty productive...

If I could go back and change one thing it would be to make my bHB a pure blocker. He wasn't built with that in mind from the start.

I'd be curious to see what you could have gotten his Heart to instead of SP on Blocking (and maybe Footwork?). And how he would then perform.

I would still run up the middle on those formations (I-Form weak/strong dive) but I would also run outside. And I would have my elusive back sub on infrequent in that formation and have Jabba set to infrequent on GL. Surely with an all-run blocking O-Line and 95 power HB, I can get 3 yards up the middle in GL...oh and silver Surge

My experience with MO is that you can run up the middle at higher tiers and then you are in the clear. But that was many nerfs ago.

Even at infrequent you're going to see the HBs you don't want in certain formations far more than you would like thus killing your plan

That silver surge won't do anything but help him reach that whopping 30 top speed a little faster lmao

You can control the play types the FB gets the ball instead of the HB, though.

It's all about acceleration up the gut.
