Again, not sure yet, but I have had safeties snagging INTs in most of the scrims so far.

My guess? Change to receivers facing ball. TEs were catching a lot of balls thrown to them in stride with a defender facing the ball in position and just getting beat anyhow. It seems receivers always get the first roll if both players are within a certain distance of each other, even if the defender has better positioning. It’s either that or defenders catch radius is just smaller than a receivers, which wouldn’t make sense with some of the snags I’ve seen.

Either way, TE passes over the middle will be harder, catching inaccurate passes you have to adjust on will be harder, and if TEs don’t just automatically snag those ducks- Safeties are going to have a good time.

If this were a true statement, then of course it would be over powering and I wouldn't want it. I guess we don't agree on how much of an impact removing over the top for EOTP would have. I think it would be a slight buff to zone and you think it would be catastrophic to the game.

I am not gonna die on this hill...I am just putting out my observations and educated guesses.

At least we agree on Zone Shark

but its not educated whatsoever. I do have on the other hand a Master's Degree in Coaching. Mine is actually an educated guess. You just can NOT do the removing of over the top of EOTP, even if it is a game there has to be some type of football logic or it's no longer a football game but a game for nothing. I really wish you could really think about that all the way. Do you really want every CB/FS/SS in the game to get 30 INT a season in replace of the 1 or 2 LB getting 30 each? Really think about that? What does that do to passing INT numbers? It nearly double or triples them. Thus, making it worthless to throw the ball anywhere, you already cant throw the ball inside now, so if you do what you want to do, nobody could throw the ball outside or deep. Where the hell are they suppose to throw the ball then?

EotP absolutely should not get a buff. It has a particular role in the game and it makes sense where it is. Punishing over the middle passes. Beyond that, this is going to turn into a case of be careful what you wish for when safeties go for picks with no help and miss it and turn what should have been a 15 yard reception into a TD instead.

Zone Shark absolutely needs to work in any Zone.

If you are worried about deep passes, start making safeties meant to cover.

LMAO there is no kinda of about it, every TE in the game gets gold primetime as the first SA before anything else. They have for over 40+ seasons now.

This was a nice pass with arc, deep over the middle...receiver just dropped it.

Yeah, it's gonna be harder for receivers to haul those in now. Probably will be harder to catch slants and drags as well, meaning outside passing game is going to take a big hit.

And the fact that zone defenses basically force you to throw and catch passes in stride or else they will intercept them/knock it loose if a receiver sits in a spot waiting on it - this is probably going to end up as a boost to zone defenses effectiveness as well.

Though, it's not possible to say without more time to see games how much of an impact this will have.

Reading these forums you would actually think people pass in this game. And by pass I mean have a large variety of called plays. I don’t see much variety. Running has always held favor, i don’t get the whole “pass is meta” argument.

Before passing was nerfed I too was an all passer. 5 passing TDs (brain fart but I’ll leave it here: 7) is only 35 points. Most guys had running backs that would put that up in a half. Anti QB hate has always been stupid for the simple fact that guys love building 6’6 dudes instead of actually planning an offense around the QB. You build your team worrying about the HB, you get beat by the other players. It’s a team game (computer or not).

Zone is fine, cover expert is literally a god send and the flexible SA list for it allows you to have a deeper play structure now. I see a lot complaints about changing playbooks. Tbh I think a lot of guys have been getting away with the holes in zone being strengths in the sim. Don’t really see how this changes anything, except prompting better zone DB builds. I’ve seen some, have yet to like any. I’m a DB guy, Zone would never be something I’d have used the way it was before. If it looks more viable now in terms of flexibility then I’d run it. It’s more fun now imo.

Teams invested in both S* HB & S* QB help are the only teams where i can say the changes show clear favor. Other than that it’s just been housekeeping on some much needed fixes.

I was literally thinking about how unfortunate the timing was for him.
