Foo, if you haven't nationally franchised your food truck operation, aren't you admitting to all of us that you aren't trying hard enough?

You see jd's point? There are thousands of examples of people who tried hard and failed and never achieved greatness. There are far fewer examples of achieved success without effort, but they do exist.

I am working on it! I am not trying to be a prominent operator, but trying to build a prominent brand. I will work on it tirelessly until it happens. If I should fail, it will be no fault but my own.

And yeah, I am a Sixers fan, so I have read a good bit about Embiid. I was not aware you had an embargo on freely available information on top draft prospects.

Foofighter could have made a decent point by saying that hard work is important, but then veered off into absurdity by suggesting that talent is really hard work in disguise, and that everyone who succeeded worked hard while those who failed to succeed didn't work hard enough.

You took that information straight off Wikipedia. Stop pretending otherwise.

I don't think the measure of success is a national franchise. In fact, that is not even a goal of mine.

Of course there are isolated instances of everything. We should not diminish hard work as a key element in the vast majority of instances so losers can blame everyone else for their failures.

Are you a talented writer? Were you born with it, or was it in you and you had to put in effort to develop it? Had you blown off school, would you be the same talented writer? If you did not read the works of others, would you be as talented a writer?

I am a naturally talented writer. Typically I don't even have to use multiple drafts; I sit down and write the final copy on my first attempt aside from some spelling and grammatical editing. Neither undergraduate or graduate school really had anything to do with my professional ability.

Again, you said something false and you've now spent multiple pages defending that mistake even with several different people pointing out how you were wrong. Stop being a stubborn ass and try to learn from your errors.

Okay, I have to get the truck ready for a fireworks show. I will continue this when I get home. Shooting to serve 150 customers an hour tonight. Wish me luck, jd!

Anything less than 200 and you aren't working hard enough.

My feet tell me I was working hard tonight. I brought 200 pounds of potatoes and we went through them in 3 hours. Looked like we sold about 240 burgers in about 3.5 hours and about 75 hot dogs. I made some infused water, thinking it would be something unique and appeal to the sugar-free crowd, but it bombed. It was a 24 hour infusion of cucumber-strawberry-lime.

Yeah, in retrospect, it was dumb. I had several other ideas that probably would have been more intriguing, but I think I got caught up in how hot it has been this week, and wanted a unique beverage. Many organic strawberries were destroyed for naught...
