Austin Longhorns vs. Los Angeles Sharks West 19-16 Austin

Two really well matched teams here. Austin really must win this game if they want anything to happen from the work they put into the off season.

Willie Mays-Hayes here, CB & Defensive Coordinator for the Austin Longhorns. Like the Sharks we have misplaced the keys to the car on offense (13 pts in 3 games), but our defense is playing well despite being on the field all the time. Just need some pick-6s to help out. I'm trying not to heckle my OC too much, but I'm havin too much fun.

Omaha Mavericks played well last week. We forced 2 INTs, and forced 2 fumbles (but the ball didn't bounce our way on the recovery). That being said, Large Arm is a damn efficient QB who always seemed to get just enough on 3rd down completions.

The Sharks are in trouble today, but no way these teams combine for 35 points. This will be an old school defensive struggle. I'm calling 10-6 Longhorns (maybe even 9-3).

I see someone has dropped the gauntlet.

Look for the Sharks to break out of their offensive snit and put up some points tonight as the ball finally bounces their way on turnovers and big plays...

And y'all best have some skills at punt returning, because Snakebite is gonna bury you deep...

24 - 13 Sharks

Especially if Zephyr Darksteel gets another play like this - http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=1590868 - another yard of pace, and the opposing DT wouldn't have caught him... and I've upped his speed with the level up he got.

We've played better teams than the Sharks, and no one's put up 20 points yet. A worn-out team (starters playing 70+ plays/game) with no depth isn't about to put up 24 points on my defense.

We've forced 2 fumbles on punt coverage this year as well, so we should see some good hits.

Anyway.... Been lurking & enjoying the predictions. Keep it up.

PS : I'm not the owner or anything, but how the heck did someone call one team the Austin Longhorns and someone else call another The Real Austin Longhorns. That's weak sauce.

How that happened was my team was called the Austin Longhorns for 2 days, and some owner comes in and calls his team the Austin Longhorns, same division and everything, so I had to change our team name by e-mailing an admin and he picked this name for us.

I am not sure what you are talking about. I am the owner of the Austin Longhorns and I have not changed the name at all. This was the name of the team when I bought it. Was there a previous owner before me? I still have the option to change the name the one time.

Then someone must have owned it before you bought it, I checked all the names before hand and nothing had the longhorns on it, no biggie just very strange and hard to figure out with the standings early last year.
