my 1st concert was staind opening up for Korn in 1999
Couple dudes got beat the fuck up in the mosh pit and my seat was 10 feet away. The concern was pretty good also At an outdoor show (5-6 bands, Heart was the headliner)...Tons of bikers everywhere. can't remember what the 2nd biker gang was, but the other were the Hells Angels. Anyway, saw this one guy, wearing something different, carrying a 2x4. Didn't think too much of it. This was before mosh pits. everyone just crammed up close to the stage, smashed together as tight as ppl can be (I was about 10 ppl back from the stage. All of a sudden, about 10' away from me, a hole just opens up in the crowd. For about 5-10 mins, the band stops and everyone just watches the guy with the 2x2 get the holy fuck beat out of him by 8-12 member of the gang I can't remember. When they were done, 2 of them just grabbed a leg each and drug his unconscious ass away. Always wondered if the guy actually lived.
Since I lied and am telling more boring concert stories, the only other one I can pretend is somewhat interesting/out of the ordinary was a Suburbs concert (semi popular punk band from the Twin Cities)...Some chick stage dove and was being passed around above the crowd as her clothes got rips off....then was dropped to the floor and spent the rest of the concert getting assaulted on the floor. Back then it probably wouldn't have been charged. Today, for you kids watching at home, that is Alcohol Facilitated Sexual Assault and is a felony, since she no doubt was wasted.
OK, I really am done now. Saw a ton more concerts (Pink Floyd was the best, but Van Halen & Rush weren't far behind...Ronnie James Dio had by far the best stage shows, though...if it was a 80s or 90s rock band, I p much wasted my $ and saw them), but those are the only out of the norm stuff I ever saw at any.
P.S. I used to like Korn for a while, but Staind was always way to whiny for me. seems damn near every song is wallowing in self pity
