The whole point of calling something a witch hunt is because the person accused didn't do anything wrong. Here we know Gart did the wrong (twice), we are just trying to figure out what peoples' reactions to it are and what the punishment should be.

p.s. just saying "more weight" has so far proven to not work the way we'd like it to work.

Not up to us, the one that should be thinking on the punishment is bort and im pretty sure he did come up with one already.

Should those who rape the English language (disgracing centuries of development for no other reason than laziness), and continue to shit down the throat of every competent English speaker in the world be banned?

If you read Bort's post, you realize he's addressing future instances. Gart did something similar to many other instances already done in GLB (and gone unpunished). I think Bort realizes this.

If Bort wants to make that illegal going forward he certainly can. GLB's track record on this issue has been the opposite, imo, and singling Gart for some heinous punishment just because he's in the WL and has the WL trophy is just bitterness.

Here's a little secret for you - so far GLB has basically played out as many "full" pvp games in MMORPGs have. The topic of griefing is nothing new.

Bort has already decided to do nothing. But he is no fool. In a week people will be wrapped up in the playoffs, then off season changes, so when he makes the announcment that there is no punishment it won't cause as much uproar as it would if he does it now.

If he is lucky, Hali doesn't win another title and the fact that they don't win will also appease the masses. If they do win...well...

Bort actually mentioned that he wants to address future and current instances. Just because things like this have been done before, it doesn't mean he should just let it fly this time around. Gart knew what he was doing was wrong, and he did it anyways. The argument that he shouldn't be punished just because others before him haven't is weak. He knowingly did something wrong, and now he can live with the consequences.

You're also neglecting the fact that even after everything blew up in response to him having BHM throw the game against Hali (including Bort making a post in response), he had BFM throw the game against Cincy. That was even worse, imo, because it puts Bort in the position of having to screw over many agents who are completely innocent. Either he keeps the Cincy stats as are and he screws over the rest of the teams in the league, or he knocks down or erases the stats Cincy got in that game and they have to compete with the rest of the league with only 15 games worth of stats. So even if you want to argue that he shouldn't be banned because all Bort has to do is delete Hali's stats from the BFM game, you can't argue that he can do the same for the Cincy game "and make all things even."

Gart being singled out isn't bitterness, it's a consequence of him showing repeated disrespect for the game and a willingness to repeatedly try and ruin the experience of other agents in the game. If you look back at all the times something like this has happened, the common denominator is Gart. Were it ITS, or Havoc, or TexanInMA, or even CV, I'd be making the same arguments. People who show a repeated willingness to attempt to ruin the game for other users should not be allowed that chance. Throwing a bandaid on it won't work because they will always try to find another way. The only way to actually stop it from happening is eliminating those agents from the game.

I'm guessing he completely forgot to change the defensive AI from the Haliblack game more than anything. If it were intentional, it would at least be on our team forum so we could laugh about it. Besides, Gart wouldn't be stupid enough to throw away his team one game *after* Bort made his topic.

Make it with those "super cool"CPL boxes too. This way we can all decide You know the kind of person who needs to make a box to show his really cool buddies how "in" he is on AOL lingo over a online MMO game.

You should be a lawyer. The pure intelligence and obvious thought that went into making this not-at-all biased sounding or completely asinine "poll" shows you have a deep natural capacity for thought and reason. Maybe you should just try get a job as a lolmod, as those are the same traits that got CV his job.

Pretty sure Cincy was a mistake.

And actually, because he's let it fly is why he should this time. This isn't war; it's a game. Make a clear statement, then prosecute based on it. It's the only good way to admin a game.
