Has anyone here worked at a liquor store? I have an 'interview' Wednesday, but my dad and I know the owner somewhat well so it's semi-understood that I'll have the job if I don't royally fuck up.

What's it like actually working at one? Anything unexpected? Is there a reason to actually be worried about getting robbed or is that just paranoia?

Neither. Poor older neighborhood where the houses are just old enough to decay but not worth enough to fix, attracting a bunch of low income 20-30 year old renters.

Then again Im not gunna be the cashier so even if they are robbed, I'll be in the back

ABC stores in NC you technically work for the state so i imagine its a decent job.

And they close ridiculously early. It's annoying because I never remember to buy before they do.

This one closes a bit later, like 10 I think. State law is that all liquor stores must stop selling by 12, so there's that. Works for me cuz I'll be in school from 8-1 next semester. Work 2-10 and go home

Think working in a liquor store will be as skeevy as it sounds? I'll be a stocker, inventory, clerical, that whole deal.

There are nice liquor stores and there are shitty, ghetto liquor stores. If the cashier is in a cage, I think you know which one you are in.

Do you get an employee discount on liquor?
