If Zeta has by far the best top 5 and Zeta's 6 through 10 are at least equal to Alpha's 6 through 10 if not also better, then how could Alpha be the better conference? It's true that we do have more rebuilding teams at the very bottom than Alpha does, but that wouldn't be enough to call Alpha the better conference. Heck, our #7 ended up winning the conference because Zeta is so deep with talent, whereas no one in Alpha really even challenged Foy all season.

I don't think Zeta's 6-10 is better than Alpha's 6-10. And again I disagree, lots of teams challenged Foy, but you will see in the championship game that Foy is deep in talent. And read the post I made about the Hippos. I really think they were just testing out new things all season, and they saved the best tactics for the playoffs. I knew they weren't a bad team because they did so well last season.

Maybe we and maybe we aren't, but Alpha's 6-10 definitely aren't better than Zeta's, so if Zeta's top five are better "by far" and 6-10 are at least equal, then it's puzzling in the extreme to insist that Alpha's conference is better in spite of that.

Huh? Foy only lost their first game and almost all their other games were blowout wins. Dublin and Lisbon were the only remotely close games.

Foy is a very strong team and I wouldn't be surprised if they won, but my point is that they were the only strong team in Alpha whereas Zeta had six at minimum, and the second tier teams in Zeta are as good as anyone in Alpha aside from Foy.

I don't think that they laid back, because they were definitely a good team all year. They finished #7 because Zeta is a ridiculously good and deep conference. I would much, much rather the Slashers be playing next year in Alpha because Zeta is going to be a beast yet again. We'll give it our best shot, but it's hard for any team to come out of this kind of competition. Just ask Marcy and Loch Ness.

I really dont care about this hole thing but claiming that Foy is the only strong team in Alpha is just plain wrong.

How alpha stacks up against zeta as conferences is pretty much irrelevent since Foy and Hippos are playing the match that matters.

Everything else is just passing time with paper and stats cause we arent allowed on the field anymore.

But carry on

True enough, but when you're out of the playoffs there isn't a whole lot left to do.

We can just agree to disagree. There will be no way to measure the 2 conferences unless they implement divisions like the NFL, and even then we can only guesstimate based on divisional matchups.

Just to clear the record about the Hippos:

Our game-plan all year was to slow-build. Teams that boosted right out of the gate definitely gained an advantage on us, which showed in the regular season. We also had some management changes, I was the OC at the beginning of the year and did a lot of tinkering with the AI, which caused some growing pains (which I'm sure everyone experienced). After basically perfecting them I brought in a new OC who shared different ideas with me, thus the growing pains continued.

That's why we lost more than one or two games.

...just to set the record straight.

We weren't the only ones, Marcy did the same thing.

lol! That's an interesting take on things.

You hired me as OC in week 8 and I had my offense installed by wk 10 after scrapping the previous tactics and rebuilding from scratch. Compared to our first eight games, I think the difference in wins, yardage, redzone efficiency and scoring output is apparent.

It's okay to give props where they're due, Rick. It won't kill ya.
