You guys beat us in a game that matters, then we'll concede that you are better than us. (Unless the sim screws us )

Seriously, I hope this debate gets a chance to be settled on the field. Otherwise it's meaningless.

That about says it all...

I agree you don't think and doesn't every game matter? or is it only when your team wins that it matters?

You really are trying to hard kid, go away! You are not bright or witty!

Only playoffs matter. If you don't win a championship then all the other wins are meaningless. Now who doesnt think. -=)

Yes, every game matters. But for very different reasons. Regular season games matter in terms of wins and losses as you try and position yourself for the postseason. And obviously wins matter in the postseason, because winning the title is what we're all trying to do.

But in exhibition games, the only thing that matters is that you come out of them with a better understanding of what works best for your team. Wins and losses in exhibition games are meaningless. Our exhibition win over the Car Bombs is just as meaningless as our loss to the Wolverines. But what we learned in those two games was very valuable in how we set up our gameplans and players tactics.

But to try and argue that wins and losses in exhibition games matter just makes you sound ignorant on how best to run a team. If you go down the list of good teams in GLB I'd be willing to bet that 90% of them couldn't care less about winning an exhibition game as long as in that game they figured out something about their defense, rush offense, WR depth chart settings, etc.

KFXSmith is an owner of a good team. And I'm quite sure he falls within that 90%.

I'd like to think of you guys as intelligent competition. All of your spouting about a 6-point preseason win is not only changing my thinking, it's going to diminish our eventual meaningful win over you guys. I want to beat good, smart competition. Not a pack of fools.

Please stop. For my sake.

I didn't mean exhibition or scrimmage games, I understand their role, I meant regular season games

But grudge scrimmage games or bragging rights games, they can mean something

I don't need to try too hard Veg, you do all the hard work yourself, please keep up these types of postings

Nah, all regular season games matter, getting to the playoffs is due to all the hard work in all those regular season games

Based upon your thinking here I'm lead to believe you and your team were 'meaningless' last season?

Is that enough thinking for ya?

Seeing as we had never played WYW before and weren't in the same conference, it didn't strike me as a "grudge" match for "bragging rights." I thought of it as our first game to experiment with the new AI settings with our new season 4 roster.

Next time I'll know.

We didnt win a championship so none of the regular season wins make a difference.

The 7/30/08 was the quick answer ... but I based my statement on a little bit of research, believe it or not....WY & Edinburgh are 1 & 2 in rush O in the league, WY via more carries but the yards/rush are identical. Edinburgh is 1 in rush D while WY is 2. To me, those add up to where you call it a wash & go on to look at passing O/D. Both are middle of the pack throwing w/ a slight nod to Edinburgh, but again, yards/completion is almost identical. So IMO it comes down to passing D & that's where WY earns the right to be called the best in A1.

Sure, you could probably go down the line of teams they've both played & margins of victory associated but in GLB, like real football, that doesn't do much for me.

I'm just honored that my comment provided such a juicy nugget of forum banter...the majority of my APRs only get a passing interest.
