Last year they lost in the second round as a 16-0 #1 seed. So I guess it's possible. IMO, they probably min-maxed their players to the point that they were seriously deficient in a number of stats that were undervalued last season, like tackling and agility. This season they probably just needed a few levels to correct all of that.
That's a possibility as well, but I just don't think that's enough to throw them off that far.
One big difference is that tactics are making a bigger difference this season IMO - Wagga Wagga is proof of that. We've scored a ton more points and been able to compete with teams that on paper are quite a bit better than us. Whereas last season, we weren't a concern for many of those same teams...
We've seen that with Tonga as well. We're getting blow outs in games that ought to be close.
Still, my experience says Brantford is smart enough to catch on pretty quick tactically. If an idiot like me can do it, surely a consortium of such supreme talent as Brantford can be tactically intelligent.
Right?
My impression of Brantford back in Season 2 was that they were winning games due to supreme builds, not scouting and game planning. I had the same impression last season, but honestly did not follow them as closely as I had in Season 2. I think with the new AI paired with the nerfing of the unbalanced build, they needed some time to right their ship and put together some successful tactics.I have said this same exact thing all along. They had outstanding builds. I just think all the changes affected them and it caught up to them a bit with the nerfing. It seems they are finding their way though. They would be a scary playoff opponent.
That is a pretty bold statement to say teams are throwing games. I know Tonga and Brantford have a history....it seems the history will continue.
Sniff, Sniff.....I smell something, maybe it is concern. Thats it, I smell some concern in the air. A possible Brantford / Tonga first round matchup
