But being the #8 seed means they have the hardest possible road through the playoffs...not a very cunning strategy.

Last year they lost in the second round as a 16-0 #1 seed. So I guess it's possible. IMO, they probably min-maxed their players to the point that they were seriously deficient in a number of stats that were undervalued last season, like tackling and agility. This season they probably just needed a few levels to correct all of that.

That's a possibility as well, but I just don't think that's enough to throw them off that far.

One big difference is that tactics are making a bigger difference this season IMO - Wagga Wagga is proof of that. We've scored a ton more points and been able to compete with teams that on paper are quite a bit better than us. Whereas last season, we weren't a concern for many of those same teams...

We've seen that with Tonga as well. We're getting blow outs in games that ought to be close.

Still, my experience says Brantford is smart enough to catch on pretty quick tactically. If an idiot like me can do it, surely a consortium of such supreme talent as Brantford can be tactically intelligent.

Right?

My impression of Brantford back in Season 2 was that they were winning games due to supreme builds, not scouting and game planning. I had the same impression last season, but honestly did not follow them as closely as I had in Season 2. I think with the new AI paired with the nerfing of the unbalanced build, they needed some time to right their ship and put together some successful tactics.

I have said this same exact thing all along. They had outstanding builds. I just think all the changes affected them and it caught up to them a bit with the nerfing. It seems they are finding their way though. They would be a scary playoff opponent.

That is a pretty bold statement to say teams are throwing games. I know Tonga and Brantford have a history....it seems the history will continue.

Sniff, Sniff.....I smell something, maybe it is concern. Thats it, I smell some concern in the air. A possible Brantford / Tonga first round matchup

These rocks have the ego to think they could pull it off.

I think if they're shooting for the #8 seed there's one fatal flaw in that plan: They'll have to play us the first playoff game

we beat you in season 2...and lost by what a TD earlier in the season?

We're not throwing games...but I personally would rather face TIT then the Strike...

They are done throwing games. They got themselves where they wanted to be (8 seed) and will now win out to maintain their position.

Blah blah blah blah blah....

Hurry up and lose another so we can face you in the first round...hiding behind the 7th seed isn't going to help you much.

You guys have always struck me as CPL refugees . . . and I mean that in a good way

As far as the schedule . . . you are right, that's about as tough as imaginable . . . but Alpha is a real gnome gauntlet this season. Its enough to nerf my junk.
